05 to 08 trans swap

Hey yall. I was wondering can I swap my 05 Tahoe LS 5.3 transmission in to my 08 Tahoe LS 5.3 FFL ? The 05 was a 4.8 changed it to a 5.3. Now I got a 08 flex fuel 5.3 and it needs a tranny. Can I do it ?

Not directly. The '08 has different electronics.

You need an 06-08 unit that comes with a turbine speed sensor.

Those started to appear in 4L60Es for the 06 model year. An 09+ will also not work as the electronics/trans control programming was changed again. They phased out the MLPS and 3-2 control solenoid starting in 2009.
