Can someone dumb it down for me?

LoL I read good things about DDM's products.. Whats better DDM or HIDGuy.net.

And either way what would I need to do High Lows and Fogs on a 2003 Tahoe.

Would this be correct?

3 Kits total?

Low Beam 9006
High Beam 9005
Fog 880

So I need HID Harness or an Error eliminator? for any or all of the kits?

THanks for the help!!

IMHO, get the relay no matter where you buy, and get fogs and lows, chances are you'll never use the highs honestly. On back road trips, I use fogs and lows, MORE than enough.

From what I have read DDMs kits are good. Some people have had some issues but their customer service will take care of you. I have DDM HIDs in all my lights except the highs. The highs have a cheap eBay kit that I will soon be replacing with a DDM kit.

You will not need the error eliminator, but I recommend the wire harness for your lows.

HID highs are nice because they are super bright but keep in mind that HIDs take some time to get to their full brightness so when you switch on your highs it will get darker at first, not brighter. If you are going to do your highs I would recommend also doing the 4-high mod.

I recommend some OEM Matsushitas or Osrams, what I have experience with, and love them and they are meant to last. I like to use the factory stuff personally. Sounds like alot of people like the DDM kits tho. LIke everyone else, get the relay harness, or do it yourself with 40amp relay, fuses, and wire. Just picked up a set of OEM Osrams ballast from an 08 escalade, locally for $20 at a junk yard, for my highs. IDK why, don't use them much, but might as well.

I know why....because you can't say no to $20 OEM ballasts. That's outrageously low-priced. I'd have gotten them too, even though I currently have an extra set of Matsushita's already...lol.

The error code eliminators are for BMW's i believe. You don't really need relays for the kits unless your run the 55w kits. 35w you'll be fine but its personal choice. I have DDM in my lows and fogs for a year so far no issues. I'd go with them over ebay kits, lifetime warranty through ddm and the price is great.

In most cases, you won't need a relay. But personally, and that's just from experience I have with HID's. I would always run a relay, just for the protection it gives and why not. Cheaper then a new ballast!!

I have been doing a lot of research through and through the tahoeyukonforum and I can not find the answer to my question regarding HID's in the Fogs. And since WHITEOUT and DenaliAK in my opinion have a lot of knowledge with HID's then I will ask a question.

I have just upgraded my HID Lows from the 35W Ballast to the DDM 55W and am going to use the 35W for my fogs. I order the 880 HID bulb from DDM and attempted the install. Here is my problem--it seems that the 880 HID bulb is too long for the fog light housing. How do I over come this problem?? I have heard of a spacer, but i can seem to find a pic anywhere and I have also PMed other forum members and they so far have not come across this problem b/c there 880 HID bulbs fit perfectly fine.

Any help is greatly appreciated...I was kinda looking forward to installing the HID fogs over the Thanksgiving holiday.

What is it hitting? The reflector or the lense? I'm not sure if denali's have reflectors in theirs, but my tahoe did and i just stuck something in the hole where the bulb goes and pushed the reflector about 1/2'' for my 880 bulb to fit.

On my 2003 tahoe I just did the ddm HID fog lights in brand new housings. The bulb did not hit but it is VERY close. Is it possible the bulb holder for the lows and the fogs is different maybe causing the bulb to sit deeper? You could always do like NoPh33r said and just slide a pen or something in there to bend the reflector away.

Do you have the round fog lights? Not sure why the bulbs would hit anything if so. Mine clear just fine. If you have the rectangular fog lights that's another issue. I haven't ever worked with them, so I have to defer to others on that one.

Sounds like you can bend the reflector a bit to make it fit, although I don't want to think about how that effects your beam pattern. I'd avoid spacers of some kind unless you can get the bulb pretty well sealed in. Moisture has a tendency of finding it's way into the fogs.

I have square lights on my tahoe.

Those are actually relays under the hood, there is a write up on here on how to do the 4/6-high mod with that method.

I had it done for a while but have decided to go with a relay to do the same thing, I was worried about the chance of something in the under hood relay box going haywire and being stuck somewhere with no lights.

I had the exact same problem. Ordered 35W 880 HID bulbs from DDM and installed them in new smoked fogs. The 880 bulb was a lot longer than the stock bulb and was hitting the reflector in the fogs. Some people on here had the same problem, and some removed the reflector, and some just stuck the bulb in and it didnt affect anything. I did the latter and just stuck the bulb in. It is touching the reflector and has bent it slightly, but other than that, it has been working fine. Although I'm not 100% sure it isnt affecting on-coming traffic because everytime I have my fogs on, I get people flashing me as if I have my highs on when I dont (i have stock bulbs in).
