The heat in my 01 lt sucks. It blows good heat sometimes but here lately it's been luke warm to cold and it sucks the rear heat works great. Does this sound like the blend door if so should can I get the blend door to stay on the hot side to just get it through the winter?

Does sound like an actuator problem since the back heat is great and that would rule out thermostat type problems. Do a search on the site and there will be lots of threads about this.

Yeah I've been searching but it sounds like the blend door is stuck or something are they easy to try and recalibrate? It'd be great if I could get it to stay on the hot side for now since money is a little bit tight since Christmas and having to get a trans put in my other tahoe and I still have to get tires for one. Lol always something here lately.

So I messed with the actuator tonight and I can turn the shaft easily. So I don't think the door is stuck I can hear it moving when I turn it. How do I reset the actuator?

I looked on the sister site of this one there is a post of someone having the Same issue he had a GM tech tell him to disconnect the battery leads and touch them together for 10 seconds he said remember once hooked up the truck might run rough for a bit until computers in truck reboot. Another post said his heater core was plugged flushed system now works better than ever. Hope this helps

I tried resetting the actuator from the info I found on the forums and still nothing, both heater hoses going to the heater core were hot, rear heat is still hot too. I Took The Actuator off lastnight and didn't see anything wrong with it inside. Are there 1 or 2 actuators on these? I took the one off on the passenger side. I wish I could manually just get it to stay on the hot side for the winter and fix it this spring

Just noticed that where the rear heater box is located in the back it sounds like it's making a farting noise and it does over and over the heat situation in this tahoe is starting to make me really aggrevated.

Well still no heat the back heat works great I took the actuator off and it moves and the rod it attaches to moves freely and I tried moving it with it running and heat on warmed up to see if the heat would come on and it didn't bout to be ill with the no heat especially with this cold cold weather.

I had a similar issue last winter (mine only has front heat). I had to flush the heater core, run some clog cleaner chemical for a day (got it at the parts store), and back flush the system twice with a garden hose and compressed air to get it working. Local shop wanted $100-$200 to do the same thing.

I replaced the other plastic fitting since it started leaking so I back flushed the heater core an pulled the hvac fuse out and let it clear everything. Now the heat cuts in and out and I can hear the actuator going back and forth. Does this sound like a bad actuator?

I took the actuator off and now the heat doesn't cut in and out and it stays hot. Guess the actuator was one of the problems
