What do those of you with an older Tahoe do to stop your phone from slipping around? The small shelf under the climate controls is too small (and plastic) to put my phone on and the top of the center console is hard plastic. I usually end up just shoving my phone in the aftermarket bin I bought to replace the cassette player.

My thought is to buy a grippy pad and cut it to fit in those areas. I'm not very creative so looking for ideas of what some of you have done to solve these issues. It's apparent the engineers that designed these trucks didn't foresee that we'd all be walking around with small monitors in our pockets in the not so distant future.

You could even possibly spray Plasti Dip on there which might give it a better fit and finish.

Hey, great suggestion! I think the spray-on would be the way to go, although I'd have to pull the console out to get the best results. I hadn't even thought of that.

I have always used a vent grip since WAAAAAAAY back, the one i use is no longer made and most of the newer ones suck balls but these are pretty similar, there better when they have the feet to support the holder instead of just the vent. these should fit and work fine

I like those vent grips too. Lately I’ve just slid the phone in between my leg and seat. If I need GPS, then on the vent grip it goes.

@DCT funny you mention adding a wireless pad. Just finished adding on to my center console lid..
