Exhaust leaks can be mild at idle but increase under load… I wonder if your cat is failing and has a hole in it or around it?

grab a stethascope from the autoparts store there like $10-15, comes in handy once in a blue moon. I was scared I had a bottom end engine issue until I got under it poked around with one, mine was a bit louder though sounded like a bunch of marbles in a coke bottleMy buddy suggested that, I just don’t understand why it gets louder and incrementally faster with throttle in gear, but in park it’s pretty moderate. I’ve got a trip to CO in a month and I don’t want to bring this damn engine bay band with me!
More evidence that it’s the starter. When the transmission is in gear the torque converter can exert more forward pressure on the rotating assembly, pushing it toward the starter. With that mileage you likely have some thrust bearing wear.My buddy suggested that, I just don’t understand why it gets louder and incrementally faster with throttle in gear, but in park it’s pretty moderate. I’m telling ya… pull that starter and see if the drive gear won’t stay retracted. Had the same thing on my ‘07 six months ago.
Case closed?
starter is done for, that gear should self retract and only come up and engage when the solenoid is powered when the key is turned to start, then retract back inside and stay there. You tell me! Lol. I’m not sure what to diagnose

ya, I updated with a video above showing how to bench test, either way when you tilted it forward and the gear slid up that is why one of the noises is happening even though it may stay back from it most of the time vibration alone will make it move and smack on the flex plateHonestly I wants sure how the starter should act off the car hahaha. So the gear should only deploy when the solenoid pushes out to connect with flywheel. Thank you so much. Let me shop a starter.
No abnormal wear or shavings.
LOL, YA YOU DON'T WANT TO DO THAT, TRUST MEView attachment 399731
Is that the battery to block ground unbolted? If so, was that done when you removed the cover? Be sure that gets reattached.

oh yeah, now i'm oriented. makes sense. lol. sorry, brain has a misfire today. That’s the starter power supply
You found your problem. As Wes says, that gear is supposed to retract on its own, so that's the failure mode I was speaking of. Unless it's left for a while, it won't produce any abnormal wear or shavings. Throw a new starter in there and you're done. You tell me! Lol. I’m not sure what to diagnose
probably worthwhile to get a oem starter, if there are cheap ones out there be sure it has the same or more killawats i.e. 1.4/1.7 are typical sometimes you can find more heavy dutyThat’s the starter power supply
