My wife raised the steering wheel while parked and now the tilt function won't work. Telescoping still works but the steering wheel is tilted all the way up. Replaced fuses 26 and 38. Left battery disconnected 15 minutes. Looks like next step is to replace

Steering Column Tilt Wheel and Telescope Switch - GM (84270930)

Anyone replaced this or have instructions? Can't seem to find anything on the internet.

Thanks!

it is not a common failure but as far as I know the only fix is to replace it. ebay or higher end auto wrecker/dismantler may be your best go to.
you could try what I do. If you know who Fonzie is, just give it a good smack and try again. Can't even begin to tell you how many times that has worked on tons of things

So I took the cover off the steering column to expose the tilt motor. While holding the switch in the down position, I tapped on the tilt motor lightly with a hammer and it started working! SO GLAD!

I'm an old-timey smacker too; even before Fonzie. Fixit or breakit.
