Ride it out!
As others have said you will get hit hard with depreciation.

I could drive a truck that doesn’t have HUD, air suspension, ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof and adaptive cruise control, but I been there done that for 50 years!

I would not want to give up the options that I have on my Tahoe HC.
I am pretty sure you can get someone to take out the rear entertainment screens for free if they can have them. Some people like or need that setup and even cheap iPad is couple hundred bucks

Are the screens removable?

lol, that's not a bright idea it takes a whole 5 minutes to remove the screen, throw it in the closet and then spend another 5 minutes putting back on when the car seat it turned back around. but the thinking here is to just give it away? hell what you got that you don't want? i'm poor I accept donations

Screens can be removed and a cover installed. I did this on my 2021 Yukon but I sold off the screens and made two extra car payments from the sales.

Don't junk a Mercedes because it has a flat tire...

Find another car seat that'll fit. I'm pretty sure there have been other families before you with vehicles having the same issue.

Don't take no for an answer. Do the research, or make modifications to the baby car seat. If you like your Z71 that much, you'll find a way.

When your children grow, you'll WISH you would have kept those television screens to keep them occupied. Think longevity. Think resale. Think of your sanity on long road trips.

Just to chime back in after taking delivery of our ‘26 XL Denali diesel last week (upgrade from a ‘24 SLT XL).

I wasn’t sure I’d be a fan of the screens, especially with iPads these days. But, early observation is my 9 year old son thinks they’d cool and on top of that, the screen forces him to look up and ahead and not hunched over looking down at an iPad. Because his head is up, he’s taking in more of his surroundings too.

Overall, happy we have them so far.

Thank you all for the feedback.

We are still deciding what to do. Removing the screens isnt really an option for us and our kid is not going to use them for atleast 3 years, meaning they are more of a hinderance than a help. That being said, losing the Air Ride and tech package in exchange for a Suburban with Diesel is an-ongoing point of contention.

I am exploring the possibility with a local dealer. Trying to get a trade in value on a 2026 tahoe is proving difficult.

Side Note: Does anyone else have relatives who try to use the screen as a grab handle to get in? Ive had multiple family members grab the screen to help them get into the vehicle and I can not understand the logic. Its remarkably frustrating

But it is. See post #29 above.

Now it sounds like you’ve got more than one reason to use post #29.

Then just place the screens in a safe place and reinstall them in 2-3 years.

It’s a way easier better financial decision than the trade in option.

Good point about the posture!

Young spines are most susceptible to the hunched over device position that results in rounded shoulders and forward head position. If this continues it’s almost impossible to correct and the adverse health effects are many!

Yeah for sure. And I know it’s flawed logic to say hey this screen is better because he looks up but the reality of living in today’s world is screens are everywhere. He was watching WWII history about **** Germany on YouTube so that’s a bonus. We also like the captains chair set up more than we thought we would. It’s actually handy to have cargo space in the middle section for snacks, small cooler etc.
