But were the owners buying the same parts?
I was up there to get some refrigerant for my father-in-law‘s accord. I think the woman who owned the other truck was getting maybe wiper blades installed or something like that. She and I were both original owners which I thought was pretty cool!

Working on proper Escalade headlights.

I have no clue what I'm doing here. Kind of looks like it might work though

This is a 3" projector.

Well I got it to fit. Looks doable. Trimmed a little too much on the shroud, so I'll probably buy replacements and try again but I'll have to figure out alignment before I go too far there.

This is definitely doable with the smaller 2.5" projectors.

Covered myself in molten plastic. There must be a better way to trim these than with this Dremel...

I saw my doppelgänger at autozone today :)
I just watched the “ other Yellowstone “ TV show, ‘Marshall’. Episode #3. They were shooting at bad guys. The bad guys had 2 SUVs..
Both 2004 / 2006 ish Yukon XLs, with roof racks…...
One had a bomb in it….. They were chased down a dirt road…..
Next continuing scene….. One SUV split with the other Yukon XL on another road….. the one with bomb blew up.
B U T……. That next, continuing scene ? ……. They were NOW, ...Suburbans without any roof racks.
>> They even had close-ups of the SUVs

( Nice going continuity crew….. )

Well, I got the old engine wire harness out finally. "Cleaned" the inside of the '05 throttle body real good with some sandpaper. And got the old intake off and '05 intake in place. Making progress!
Oh and check this: this weekend I scored a Cornwell Tools 3-ton floor jack and a set of Goodyear Professional 6-ton jack stands for $50!

I hope you're joking. The butterfly valve won't seal if you "clean" too much.
Oh no, this isn't my first rodeo bud. I've done 2 throttle bodies before the same way. Worked beautifully. I used a wire brush in the seal area. Sandpaper was around the edge. All good. Man back in the day, I bought a brand new set of Brembo basic rotors for my car, made a cardboard template with my pattern drawn on it, and then cross-drilled my front rotors myself. And guess what: I never once had to turn those rotors in 10+ yrs. No bs

Checked both diff fluids and the transfer case fluid. It may make a late April trip to the DFW area to pull a trailer back to Denver.

I also fixed the squeaky rear windows by lubricating the tracks with silicone spray. Should have done that first instead of going down a rabbit hole by pulling a door panel and lubing the window regulator. Also fixed a rattle in the driver's door panel. I mean, it's old enough to drink but it doesn't need to make such a racket. ;)

Well just wrapped up a 1800 miles road trip in the denali with that family for spring break. Truck did great, zero issues and rolled over 191k on the trip. Managed 16.7 mpg average which isn't terrible for how loaded down we were and my lead foot dosent help either. I thought about tossing an eco tune in before we left but ran out of time.

Last night we were about 10 hours into the 12 hour return trip while it was dark and raining. My wife hit a pot hole the size of the grand canyon with the right front and possibly bent a rim. Steering wheel is slightly off and has a small shimmy plus now there is a chunk when turning left and right. The chunk sounds like it's from the right front suspension but its hard to say. We pulled into a parking lot and from what I could see nothing is obviously broken, but I will know more when I dig into it.

Shit happens, im not upset about it. We made it home safe.

Truck needs an oil change now so I will try and inspect the suspension better this weekend when I do that service.

Well got the truck in the garage and the pass front wheel has a small flat spot on the inner bead of the barrel. Got that off last night and will drop off at the rim repair shop today at lunch to get it straightened out. Checked the other 3 and no defects that I could see.

The "front suspension" noise seems to be the lower steering column bearing making noise. I cannot find anything wrong with the front suspension it self. However, I am going to wait until my wife is home, have her turn the wheels back and forth while I monitor suspension.

They've been irritating me with that crap for many years.

I remember an episode of 'CHIPS' where Ponch's Firebird magically became a Camaro when they crashed it.
