No Sound, Trying to do this DIY, Help!

Alrighty, so this is whats goin on, I have a 2005 GMC Yukon SLT with the bose sound system, I bought an aftermarket sound system, prior to attempting to install my aftermarket stereo I had complete sound and everything, my mechanically inclined friend said that I wouldn't need the PAC interface for the new stereo to work with the sound system and cut the plug off of my stock harness, we then realized that we needed the stock plug and the interface, so I rewired the stock plug with simple connectors not solder because I've never soldered before and now even with the stock radio I have no audio, I checked all the fuses none of them were blown, I checked all the wires were plugged into the right place however the amp turn on wire was only receiving 0.012V, I replaced the amp to see if that could've been an issue as well and that didn't rectify it either, could definitely use some guidance. Thanks!!

Sounds like you need new friends. The bose requires work arounds to get aftermarket stuff to play nice.

Interface Module: Use a specialized wiring harness like the PAC RP4-GM11 or Crux SWRGM-48. This retains your steering wheel controls, chime functions, and provides the necessary "Turn-on" signal for the Bose amp if you choose to keep it.

Bypassing the Amp: If you are replacing the speakers, it is best to run new speaker wire directly from your new head unit or aftermarket amplifier to the door speakers, as the factory Bose speakers use non-standard impedance 2ohm

As folks above have stated, your friend gave you bad advice. The best advice given to you above is to thoroughly re-check your wiring and splicing. If everything worked before, and it did not work after you re-wired, your issue is most likely in your re-wiring work.

So I have the Pac rp5-gm11, even with that it wont turn on, tried doing the stock radio back in there and it still won't turn on

As I just finished a complete system in a 2019 silverado. Since you hacked it up make sure your steering wheel controls work and just rewire the door speakers from your new amp to the wires behind the radio that go to the doors. Forget trying to get your factory bose to work you can run 2 runs 9 wire from amp to dash. That will handle the remote turn on wire for the amp and all the door speakers, B pillars. Here's the color code for your bose amp if you insist on trying to get it back to working.

gotta have a blown radio fuse. Or the constant 12v supply is missing.

I’d check all your fuses. there’s about 3 for the stereo I believe. Sounds like the amp turn on power fuse is blown, whichever one that’s is.
