2021 with digital instrument display

I’ve been poking around and noticed that most 2021s online don’t have the larger digital instrument display that my 2021 has. While I have a tach and speedo needle the entire middle of the cluster is a digital display.

Most 2021s I’ve seen have all gauges with needles and smaller central display for the menu.

And then for 2022s I’m noticing there are instrument clusters that are fully digital.

Pretty interesting the wide variety due to chip shortages and what not.

I do wish I had the full digital cluster though. It looks pretty sweet.

there’s an option package or trim level which provides the higher end cluster on the ‘21. I’ve got it on mkmekmg with the HUD and surround vision which I think was part of the same package.

You’re not missing out on much by not having the “fancier” ‘21 gauge cluster. While the virtual gauges are sharper to read you can’t reconfigure them…you’re locked into displaying the same gauges the analog (needle) versions would show. The part in the middle where you have multiple pages is identical to what my wife’s ‘20 Traverse LT has (which I’m guessing is also the same as to what yours shows)…related to that there’s nothing exciting about it except it might look a little neater visually.

I’ve only seen pictures of the ‘22’s and it does sound like that’s more configurable. Hopefully someone with one of those can chime in.

I’ve seen what Ford can do on some of their gauge clusters and it’s far more customizable compared to what I think GM has in these vehicles.

Your spot on in describing my ‘21 digital cluster. It’s nice and I’m happy it’s not the full gauges.

But that ‘22 digital cluster is awesome. Much closer to Ford now.

I agree GM is far behind other manufacturers and what they put out. As for the 22’s the digital cluster looks nice, agree there but have to disagree with the 21 digital vs the all analog look wise. Personally the 21 digital looks like a knock off predator icon and just as it was mentioned cant do anything about the needles. The analog on the 21’s look much more cleaner. Ive had a digital clustor on my 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee and it wasnt fully customizable. That alone is a deal breaker and anything digital is prone to eventually fail. Had a situation where fuel gauge, oil life monitor and a few other settings reset on that digital cluster.

Also the 22’s have a limited customization also so i wouldnt get too excited about it. On the plus side for the 21’s, in the past the Silverado community which shares the same all analog cluster has had conversion kits to all digital clusters so wouldnt be surprised if they come out with one for the 21’s.

It’s possible now, White automotive media services sells a full digital cluster. I upgraded my 21 LT to the newer 12” cluster
