We’ve had this truck for about a month now... first rain hit yesterday... came out this morning to find...

:grumpycat:

So pissed. Not sure where it’s coming from but it’s only on the drivers side up under the firewall... you know... only where about a million electronic things live.

I’ve researched and found a ton of leak threads, but most say the shark fin antenna or the sunroof... not sure this one’s coming from there, seems more like a firewall grommet thing...

I bought an extended warranty, I really really hope this is covered... nothing like your new fancy ass Denali getting soaked to the bone inside. :biggun:

All I can say is I’m sure glad I bought those all weather mats...

Awful lot of water for sharkfin I’m thinking sunroof drain or something around windshield.

check under that mat you put in there to make sure it’s dry. Looks like water got behind it but make sure it’s not wet underneath like it’s been happening for a while.

yeah I pulled the mats out, luckily all dry underneath... I guess I’ll be digging into it tomorrow.

So it appears the windshield has been replaced at some point...

The wife informed me she noticed a whistling or “air moving” sound coming from the drivers side windshield area while driving the other day... I’m gonna hop in and take a spin, see if I can replicate that... if so I’m leaning hard towards a crappy seal on the replacement windshield...

So I pulled the floor mats up and all the carpet and underlay... it’s completely soaked... like standing water on the floorboard...

This is not awesome.

One upside is that I called the dealer I bought it from, Jerry Seiner GMC in Salt Lake City UT, and they agreed to cover the cost of fixing it...

I’m taking it to my nearest dealership on Wednesday and they’re gonna find the leak...

my worry is that the entire carpet and underlay will be moldy and ruined by then... add that to the cost of the windshield repair... I sure hope the selling dealership is still game to make it right.

So it turns out that the windshield was definitely the culprit. Took it to Silveira GMC and they put it through their rain shower.

The best news, however, is that the sellers have agreed to pay the full price of repair. Brand new windshield plus full front carpet and all the underlay. Total cane out to just under $2k, and the selling dealership is picking up the tab.

So good on you Jerry Seiner Buick GMC in north Salt Lake Utah.
