Comparing to your sig pic, I agree. They look much better on the Yukon.

Got my new black stainless steel 3.5 inch exhaust tips installed today. So glad to finally get rid of the rusty old chrome ones. The guy that put them on said that they wouldn't change the sound. ********. I'll get a sound comparison clip soon and post it up

FINALLY remembered to send the picture of my new exhaust tips from my phone over to my computer. It's not a very good picture but, believe me, it looks and sounds SOO much better than the old exhaust tips. I never thought a big ass hole in an exhaust tip would change the sound so much but it did, it doesn't sound like a shop fan anymore!

Alright long post warning....
So in the midst of this COVID-19 shitshow I finally got to work on my truck. I have done a few things to the truck since I last updated this thread and I'll be posting pics here shortly. First thing I did was get rid of that painted piece on the top of the front bumper and got a new freshly repainted one. Just that one little piece seemed to change the look of the truck completely. Looks so much better now. Also the LED DRL bulbs that I put in when I put all of my new lights in went out so I replaced them with a new set (same bulbs, sent in a complaint to the dealer and got a free set) and those went out within a week so I just said screw it and got the good ones from O'Reilly's. All of this was over a month ago before all this crap started.


Since I got this truck I've always known it had a pretty significant oil leak. It was leaking around the oil pan gasket and the front crankshaft seal. Well I've had the parts to fix it for a while along with the shorty headers off my Tahoe and a new set of rear tires (I'm a teenager with a V8, 'nuff said ) to get installed but I just haven't had the time or an open lift at my grandfather's shop to get it all done, not to mention it's my only vehicle and I WAS going to school like normal and working at least 5 days a week so I couldn't afford for it to be down long, or at all really. Well anyways I finally got to start working on it yesterday because this pandemic has absolutely killed business at my grandfather's shop and the Buffalo Wild Wings I work at is on takeout only ordering so I'm not working at all (haven't worked a day in 3 weeks). Anyways I got the front crankshaft seal in and replaced the oil pan gasket, taking a look at my oil pickup tube and the bottom of the oil pan while I had it off. This motor was VERY well taken care of, the rubber O-ring in the pickup tube was still very soft and flexible, a common problem with these motors causing them to lose oil pressure. No buildup in the bottom of the oil pan and everything from the bottom of the motor all seemed to be in very good shape. Got all that put back together, and now it was time to install my headers. This thing had THREE broken manifold bolts on it, 1 on the passenger side, very front, and 2 on the drivers side, one near the front and the infamous one at the very back that's always a PITA to get out no matter what. Still not done with getting the headers in, hopefully finishing that up sometime this weekend. Since they were so slow my dad asked one of his coworkers to mount my new tires and balance them while we were working on the truck. Well apparently this guy doesn't know how to operate a tire machine because HE CHIPPED THE PAINT OFF ONE OF MY WHEELS. Needless to say, I was a little pissed. That's everything up to this point, hopefully sometime tomorrow we'll finish getting the headers on, put new oil in it, I think we're gonna re-silicone the rear diff cover because it's leaking a little, and put a new gasket on the thermostat housing. Still rocking stock radio and going without my subs, apparently you need an adapter for the factory Bose system to be able to put in an aftermarket headunit and subs? Can someone please clarify if that's true or not? If it is then I'm gonna have to wait to install my head unit and subs.

I believe on that is the case. When Tim had a 03 Sierra 1500, it had a Bose system and we would have had to buy adapters to put in aftermarket subs. We did use the head unit I have now in my Hoe but it is XM capable so it had to have an adapter to run that. You could check Crutchfield, they usually have stuff online that shows what you would need to buy to make it all work.

Sounds like your getting a lot done. Particularly maintenance which is the most fun stuff to do, but the most important.
