Called a Chevrolet dealer (Scoggin-Dickey in Lubbock, Texas) today and was told by a service writer that I would have to leave my 2010 Chevy Tahoe "for a couple of days" and they would have to "R&R the dash". I assume "R&R the dash" means "Rip-out & Reinstall the newly cracked dash" or...
I bought gas today for my Tahoe. Odometer show 14,717. May have to replace the tires sometime around May 2036. Last year, I found some gizzmo in the interior that I had never used before and had to look it up in the owner's manual. LOL
I didn't do anything to my Tahoe today. I didn't do anything with it yesterday, either. I've got to get it out of the garage a little more so it can get some sun on it. It's so dark in the garage. The poor thing only has around 7,600 miles on it.
If I have a navigation disc inserted, it's normal, and quite annoying, in my 2010 Tahoe. I removed the navigation disc many years ago and started using a Garmin GPS unit. Two problems solved . . . no noise caused by GM's faulty design and a first-class Garmin GPS unit.
Just for amusement...
Keeping in mind that I don't pull my vehicle all the way to the front of the interior of the garage when parking, the lower edge of the rear tailgate of my 2010 Chevy Tahoe touches the rubber trim on the frame of the garage opening when I open the rear tailgate with the garage door up, and that...

I mounted mine using the one existing screw just to left of where the mount is located in the picture above. No use drilling if I don't need to.
I don't even come close to having my leg hit the brake controller unit when it is attached to the mount.
In the past, most people who ordered our type vehicles did not pay the $200.00 option to have an integrated trailer brake control unit installed at the time the vehicle was manufactured, but a lot of people did pay to get the heavy-duty trailering package and trailering receiver/connector...
Not only are the Garmin updates FREE, but they're FREQUENT! And they won't hose other parts of your vehicle. As far as GM getting with it, now that's downright funny. :evillol:
You're very welcome! I can't think of a bigger-bang-for-the-buck quick upgrade than a Console Safe. I get lots of positive feedback any time someone sees mine.
For those of you who might be interested in adding a dash cam, here's an excellent website to keep up to date on what's out there: http://forum.dashcamtalk.com/
