Why is it so easy to get the rear stuck in the snow. My other cars with awd pull right through and they are cars. I know the systems are totally different, but putting it in 4 auto doesn't help. Is there something Im missing? im used to an awd audi or bmw that can drive straight up a hill.

Also, I did have some issues with the car in 4 auto. There is a weird vibration and also what feels like a tranny problem when left in 4 auto.

It's possible there is a problem with your AWD. If it's a 2015 have th dealer check it out as its like Ely under warranty. Does it lock into 4 low? Any dash lights coming on?
Also, what kind of tires are on it? Low profile street tires or some designed for a light truck application?
I know that the big rims with the low profile narrow sidewalls tend to complete a look good but when It comes time for the truck to be a truck they usually fall way short.

Turn off your traction control in deeper snow or put in 4 hi.

Mine makes a vibration/noise in auto 4 when accelerating. Even after they replaced the transmission.

22 inch alenzas. It is fine when driving and I do see a big difference when putting it back in 2wd vs the 4 auto. Its getting into my driveway. I see the front tires clear but aren't working. A good awd system would put the power to the wheel that has traction. This doesn't do it.

the suburban hasn't missed a beat going through 10-12 inches in 4hi, the caddy hasn't gone much past the driveway but seems to be fine. Don't use the auto 4wd, use 4hi when you need to pull in the driveway.

you have a truck, with 4wd and locking differentials, you don't have an AWD high tech vehicle with no ground clearance, 4wd is different than AWD.

your vibration is most likely traction control as well.

It makes a lot of noise in 4 hi. Just got it stuck again with right rear tire in snow, left rear in a little slush, and two front on dry ground. Got through this with ease with awd. I had to get a push and that was still hard to break free. Embarrassing. I don't think I had this problem with my wifes escalade.

I drove my 15i suburban in 20 inches of snow with no difficulty. I put Michelin at2 tires on it. I have 4wd and used 4w hi. I should have turned the traction control off. I tried to go back out in the 25" and in 4w hi I got stuck. I used 4 w lo and put the truck back into the driveway. I lost my nerve. All in all I think it worked well.
The only issue I've had was when I opened the rear hatch it would open bounce and close. Front air dam had a shifted bracket. And there was a clunking sound and the truck vibrated a little. It went away. And the other issues were fixed by the dealer today.

Sounds like your 4WD is not engaging. Definitely something to take it to the dealer for. Our Yukon XL has been flawless in the snow here in Alaska. Im also running Michelin x-ice stud less winter tires. It's a tank on rails in snow.

Took my Denali 15i to Tahoe in snowy conditions. Didn't use 4 auto but 4wd hi. No issues on the high country roads. I took it in for normal service and the dealer mention they had to do a software update due to 4wd may disengage and/or shift erratically under cold conditions.

Its really bad. I cant understand how the alenzas could get me stuck 3-4 times with only one tire stuck. How do I shut off TC? Must be a problem somewhere.

As others have told you: There is something wrong with your truck - take it to the dealer to get it sorted.

If your AWD is working properly you shouldn't get stuck with the front tires having traction. Having said that, good tires make all the difference in the world.

I ran dedicated snow tires on my old burb in the Cleveland winters, no issues getting around in several feet of snow. All seasons on my AWD Yukon XL, not so great performance, even in 4-6" of snow.
