i got my 05 LT on friday and first thing i noticed was how horrible the light output was. both my GTO's and my Lexus have HID in them and can see everything, but this was like riding in a carriage with candles on front. so on sunday morning i ordered the depo projectors and an HID setup after seeing some threads that the light output was decent.

SOOOOOOOOOO much better than stock. still not great by any means, but what an improvement for only 160 dollars.

Cool. Definitely look into a hid projector retrofit though. Even better output by about the same margin lol.

5' is a little close to get a good look at the light pattern. roll it back to 20' and make sure you adjust them properly

I just got the Depos in black. Bumper lights in black and smoked fogs. It fits my truck better than chrome.

The optics of the Depos handle the HIDs pretty good though they are not even as close to as good as retrofits. Still a hell of a lot better than running fluted housings and pissing everyone off.

The cutoff is pretty clean and sharp without much if any bleeding at all. I had to readjust them a couple of times. The last time I just pulled up behind a car at 15 feet and put the cutoff at just below the trunk-lid edge.

Stupid question time but where did you get those? I want to improve the stock headlights I have but I don't have the money for a retrofit.

I have the chrome depos and I put led low beams in mine. They are rated at 6500k in color, and 3000lm/bulb. Pretty good output.

That looks much better than I expected! Excellent looking truck dantheman!

I have a denali with the projector low beam. Would the cutoff be as acceptable with my factory headlights? I have ordered HIR's for my low beams, but if I can get an acceptable cutoff from them I would seriously consider some PNP HID's instead.

I would not consider HID's outside of a retrofit otherwise, but I am not ready to drop $400 on lights for this truck.

Actually it looks like a retrofit is less expensive/labor intensive than I expected for the 'Nali headlights. Morimoto h1 Projectors are in my future.

Not sure about the yukon version. But I have the aftermarket tahoe version, and the low beams are 9006. I have 9006 led low beams in mine.
