hey guys,

I had an 05 Yukon that was street modded. recently bought a 2005 Tahoe that was bone stock. the plan is to lift the Tahoe, having mainly lowered vehicles most of my life my knowledge is very minimal.

I recently got a smoking deal on a set of 17" wheels wrapped in 35x12.50R17 TL Comps. so i've put the new wheels on and yup the Tahoe had more rubbing than a jr. high dance. so i turned the keys to get about a little over an 1" of space but do not want to turn them any further than that due to the stress added on the Tahoe. BTW, a little of the plastic molding needed to be trimmed, but do not want to have to "trim" any more.

I'd like to do a 3" body lift but after going through many threads there seems to be more involved. here are the items that seem to make the most sense - 3" lift spindles, lift keys, Z71 springs, 2.5" spacers, 5100 Bilstein.

i've went on amazon and ebay but there are a few different brands or models to choose from.

can you guys help with the "who, what & where" to get the 3" lift spindles, lift keys, Z71 springs, 2.5" spacers, 5100 Bilstein.

thanks
iB

so i found the Bilstein 5100's on amazon, they've already shipped. not getting any different keys since most people say that the stock will work just fine.
the springs and spacers are also pretty easy to find but the lift spindles are still a mystery, anyone?

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm ready to pull the trigger on taking off my lowering parts and lifting my 04.

I have my parts list together but I'm hesitant to buy the cheaper spindles. But some on here have used them so I think I'm just going to get them.
I'm not going to do any significant offroading. (Probably mostly carpool line crawling, lol)

Don't forget to get the longer sway bar links for the rear of your truck.

Also did you get the correct 5100s that are for the lifted truck? If so how much did you pay for them? Shock warehouse has the 4 for about $320 shipped.

I know Z-56 lifted his 2wd with spindles and keys on the front. I'm sure what spindles he ordered but maybe contact him.

Keys - look on ebay for lift keys that fit vehicle
Spacers - look on ebay for spacers that fit vehicle (I got gold anodized aluminum $40)
Z71 Springs - RockAuto
5100s - Shock Warehouse (look in my lift thread for part #s)
Spindles - ???
Helper Bags - Amazon or AutoAnything (Air Lift 1000s if you tow anything)

@fire730, i jumped the gun a bit but could'nt pass up the deal that was given to on the rims n tires. i'll be doing a minimal amount of trail driving when we go camping and the occasional off road jaunt when we're in Palm Springs.
do you have a part number or model for the sway bar?
the Bilstein part number i purchased is 24-186643 said they give you 1-3" of lift
I don't plan on turning my keys any more then they are now. your price sounds about right.

@01Kinvict, thanks for the link, i'll read through that today. I want to get the Z71 springs and spacers after i get the front done due to my budget restrictions.
I'm curious to know how the spindles will affect the vehicle lift and if their necessary.

I have 1.5" Body and keys/spacers/z71 springs with 5100's on 33's to give you an idea of around a 4.5" lift

@middlegriff1, i like that look. your truck looks great. that is just about where i want mine to be.

since the 35's came with the rims i'm going to run those out then move to those style 33's.

that really is a great looking truck you have!

the Bilsteins will be here today and the plan is get the rear finished up by mid Oct.

those of you who have a 1.5" body lift, is there a particular brand that is recommended?

is there a thread for doing the body lift?

Rough country 6" rear kit, CST 3 - 4" lift spindles , pro comp keys installed but not cranked! Adjustable Panhard bar. This will allow you to run 35X12.50's with out rubbing. It'll be stout. As hell. Look at my wife's photos!

image.jpg. If you do the Z-71 rear springs you are gonna be sagging like crazy in the rear! Trust me I know from experience

Where do I find the Rough Country rear kit? I'm not having any luck finding it online.

Thanks.

I had a shop call and say they had a wrecked Tahoe up there and rough country sent it right out.

Thanks for the truck love. Im actually looking for 35s now so i can take the 33's off.

I think there is a thread for the body lift. They don't make a 1.5 for our tahoes though. I bought a 2002 silverado body lift and had to buy a couple extra bolts. The reason I went with the 1.5 lift is so you can run the HD bumper cap and grill without cutting and moving the framehorns for the bumper. The only downside to it was that It didnt move the rear bumper up at all. But no biggie, Im in the works of designing a rear bumper to match the front.

i'll have to get a pic up of what my Tahoe currently looks like. I'm going to go with the Bilsteins, Keys and spindle set up. have the shocks on already.
@middlegriff1, you fabricated the front bumper yourself? do you have more for sell or take orders?
