hey guys so im finally going cammed..i went with a trick flow 216/220 .560 lift cam from summit racing
i will have to get some springs for it i hear the ls6 springs are kind of pushing the limits with this cam and that i should go with the pac 1218
i also have to get some pushrods and the gaskets i will need but i am stocked about getting this cam on

my current mods are CAI, LT headers, ORY-pipe, vette servo BB tune

You're gonna love that Camshaft i know i do. Our cams are almost identical. I went with 216/224 on a 551/ lift, Mine is made by vinci It's called "The Trucker CAM" i went with Lunati Voodoo Beehive Valve Springs and Comp Cam 7.4 pushrods as far as gaskets i would go with a LS-1 TIMING COVER GASKET SET.

You might want to consider changing out the Water Pump/Timing Chain/ if you have high mileage, since everything will be torn apart.

Good advice about the timing chain.

With the added valve lift/duration and higher spring pressures it puts added strain on the weak stock chain. You can upgrade to LS2 sprockets and chain for well under 100.00 and it's direct fit. Got mine for around 65.00 I think and they're very strong. Call up Scoggin Dickey Performance and they will set you up and their prices are great on the OEM stuff.

Make sure you install the oil pump correctly! you need to use 6 feeler gauges to set it up right before you tighten it down.

At 140k I would definitely swap the timing chain and the oil pump while you are there. The water pump can easily be done later though.

I've been listening to some 5.3 cammed on YouTube today and it's making me want to get one done really soon. I'm calling Comp Cams tomorrow to see what they can tell me.

My cam totally woke up my truck. You will love it. Gonna want to get a stall so you can launch the crap out of it lol.

I have a .607/.614 219/227 112LSA cam with PRC dual springs and a 3200 stall, it's real fun to drive.
