this may be a vague question or poorly worded...

what is the best way to wire this set up. i'm using two Type r 12's 4 ohm and will be in a ported box, powered by the RF T1000.bd.

Run 4 gauge power and ground wires to the amp.
I'm pretty sure all Type Rs are dual voice coil so they have two 4 ohm voice coils right?
Or are they dual 2 ohm voice coils on each?

haha. i didn't mean like installing the amp, i have 4 guage for it..

i meant like what ohm to wire them to.

i don't know how to word it properly what i'm trying to ask i guess..

they're both 2 four ohm coils.

Well you have two options:
1. Wire each individually in parallel so that each sub is 2 ohm total.
Then wire the subs to each other in parallel for a total 1 ohm setup.

2. Wire each individually in series so that each sub is 8 ohm total.
Then wire the subs to each other in parallel for a total 4 ohm setup.

Well you have two options:

And since that amp is "1000 Watts x 1 @ 1-Ohm ", I would do #1

got it hooked up, LOVE it. i will post pics tomorrow in my build thread, the weather is ****** today.
