Wow those Canada laws are very strict but I guess that's why the gun violence in WAY less there.
The bullet went straight through the hood and ricocheted off the brake booster and ran into the engine cover and came to rest around the spark plug area. Total damage was $4200 but that is only because 3 doors needed repainting due to scratches from glass.
The engine was perfectly fine though. Insurance also covered everything.

are you SURE that 6.2L was okay?????

Haha Robbie the 5.3L was perfectly fine! To prevent a repeat I am taking many measures. Which range from cameras to ammo!

Time to carry concealed. Virgina just gave me a non-resident CWP. I couldn't feel safer now that I'm covered. You should do the same.

same here man, well i have one for Ohio, but i feel wayy better protection wise. Funny to see peoples reaction when they see it ;)

Yeah!! Go 2nd Amendment! Those xDm's are nice guns.
I can't believe that someone would do this... I think your truck is awesome, and to see it attacked just breaks my heart.. If this happened to me I wouldn't know what to do.
This makes me want to sleep in my truck now.. lol. I have a viper system and added sensors but still.. I could be asleep or away from the garage.

I wish the best for you.. hopefully the guy will be found. I'd ask around. Maybe someone else saw something. Although if I saw someone else doing this the first thing I'd do is call the police. But you never know.. maybe someone has a description.

Modded, I'd try going to a gun store
With a range and rent several different guns and try shooting them first. See how each caliber feels when you shoot and how each gun feels in your hand both loaded and unloaded. Based on feel I would have picked the .45 Springfield xDm too, but shooting it allowed me to feel the recoil which I feel was big because the xDm is so light. That's how I ended up with the Glock 21C. I don't say this to sway you from the xDm, but to help you pick the right gun for you, which just might be a xDm, or maybe a Berretta 9mm. Who knows?

Anyways, sorry for going off topic.

Thanks for the advice Connor. I'm gonna go check out a couple of gun stores and see what I like the best. The last one I checked had the xDm in 9mm. I loved the way it felt but like you said it was light.
I'm gonna go feel some more and possibly come back to you and see what you may think of them.

And Jake I have that same exact feeling. I wanted to sleep in the Tahoe and just wait for some dumb ass to come and try something again so I can put him in his place!

When i picked out my gun, i started with a .22, then a 38 special then moved to a 9mm, then shot a glock .45 with only 8 shots and just knew i loved it. Went out and bought a glock without really getting the feel of it too much. I dont regret it, i will learn to love and learn to handle the .45...

Only thing that sucks is buying about 1000 rounds for the .45 to reallly get some practice costs an assload of money. But a .45 will put someone in place. The muzzle flash is enough to blind someone haha
Bought a glock 30shortframe, holds 10 plus 1 in the chamber.
Heres a corny picture..

Im not a pro on this gun stuff yet, but they say the 9mm has more of a punch towards your chest as the .45 has more of a kick up.. from the get-go i wanted a gun with some nasty kick, power, punch what ever you call it.

Obviously the 45 is the slower round tho, you can actually watch it cruise down the shooting range. (everyone carries 9s, time to step up the game ;))

9mm diameter
.356"

.45 diameter
.452" (hence why its a .45 haha)

This is pitiful! Too bad the bullet didn't come back and hit him/her standing right in front of your vehicle.

Be careful with owning a gun. It would be tempting to shoot someone that is screwing up your vehicle but you'll most likely end up in jail especially if it is in a common parking lot. Even on private property in most cases.

Yeah Dave it is pitiful. I don't plan on even pulling out a gun unless someone is coming towards me with one, is in the process of pulling one out, or if my gut tells me that I'm in life threatening danger.
It's not worth it to shoot someone that does not pose a deadly threat when I have my fist working with me!

How's the recoil from 9mm to .45?

significant. a 9mm is through and through, a .45 has stopping power. I'd run a .40, personally. That's what wife and I carry.
