Is an aftermarket MAF worth the money?

I'm starting to get the mod train rolling on '08 Tahoe 5.3L. This is my first naturally aspirated vehicle worth mod'ing ever. I have a Vette servo on the way and a BBP AutoCal will follow very shortly. I'm thinking that breathing is a good starting point.

Any input from those of you that have experience with MAF's in these vehicles is much appreciated!

All the MAF does is measure the airflow into the motor so the ECM knows what to do with fuel etc. As long as the stock one is working correctly, what would be the advantage to installing a "performance" MAF? What exactly would it do to increase performance? Nothing. Spend the cash on a CAI before the Autocal so the BB tuning takes that into account.
