Got Some OBS respect yesterday...

Was driving on Rt17 north in Maywood, NJ in heavy traffic(3-5mph crawl) a guy in a Jeep GC pulled up next to me...

Guy: "Hey what year is that"
Me: it's a 96
Guy: "Real nice looking, I really love those older Chevy's, yours looks great"
Me: Thanks
Guy: "If I can find a good one I am gonna pick it up"
Me: go for it!

Then traffic started to move. It was validation for the work I have been doing over the last few months. There was also a brand new Ford p/u in front of me, and a late model Chevy p/u behind me. So I was feeling even better about the convo.

Nice.. Same kinda thing happened to me the other day. Local police officer follwed me into my work parking lot, never turned on his lights or anything, but just wanted to tell me how nice my 2 door was. Said he had been looking to get one, but everything he had seen were rust buckets.

Anyone can keep a new car looking nice. It takes a special kinda person to keep a 15 year old truck still looking good.

Happen to me today... A fedex driver came in2 my work 2day and askd " hey know whos tahoe Limited that is in the parking lot..?" I said why did u hit it..? He laughed and said " no, I wanted 2 see if they were interested in selling it"... I said no... Long story short hes a fellow obs enthusiast and we chopped it up for damn near an hr about obs... Good times...

Did you ask if he's on any forums? Those Limiteds are hard to find in good, clean shape. I see them from time to time around here but most of the time they are beat up and well used.

My chick hates the fact that I glote so much about my truck, and never believes me when I tell her ppl ask about my truck and blah blah blah... But 2nite I went to the local taco joint for a midnight snack, and 2 guys sitting outside asked me what's the difference between the Tahoe LIMITED and the Z71..? So I dropped sum knowledge on them and hit them with the short wikipedia version... Then went into details about my LIMITED... And they wanted to take a look inside and check her out... They tripped out on the 120 speedo and nbs cc and two tone leather seats... I was glad I had it detailed sunday... Then we checked out their rides 1 had an 02 Z71 that was stock for the most part tvs and sounds LED tails but real clean... The other a 98 tahoe 4x4 stock... Any ways there was compliments going back and forth and I invited them to our fine forum, so I look forward to see them on here soon... Its just good to see that there's still people just like us that still appreciate a fine obs wen they see it...

ive kinda become custom to the compliments for the most part ever since i blacked mine out and added the light bar on top and the snorkel , people always says it looks like somthing off of jurassic park or apocolyptic <<however u spell that> movies alot of jeep guys give me thumbs up or smile when they see the snorkel to be honest to my knowledge im the 4th or 5th person to do this mod and make it look good , but thats atleast as far as i know

I was offered 8k once a few years back to sell my 2 door. I had to turn it down. One thing I really miss about it, it was an attention grabber. Everyone either know about that truck, or would compliment on it from time to time.

Now, I just drive a stock Silvy that looks like any other black Silverado on the road lol

sadly no , still got to seal up the dizzy and work out some other kinks , i havent had the time to finish it up as of the moment i think my engine would survive a hydrolock but i would either lose my ECM or get the dizzy soaked and be screwed either way, sunlit probally saved my axles by reminding me about the vent hoses

Please don't take this the wrong way. But you are fool to not sell your truck for 7k. Nothing special about it...unless I missed something. 7k can buy a nicely modded OBS.

I get compliments all the time...mostly from people which share the same paint job given to them by God.

I've only got pulled over once late at night by a trooper only to ask about my Blue Gauge Cluster and interior lights. He liked em told me he is waiting for a trooper Hoe to go to auction so he can scoop it up!

What Woman doesn't complain...mine sure as shit does. Gets more time and money then her when I am free. The house is full of boxes and she is taking it alot better then I thought. But she cracked the other day and said she misses being in it and driving it. She gets a lot of funny looks and loves hitting the train horns for kids at the bus stop. Guess that is the School teacher in her.
