Looks really good man! I actually contemplated that once.. Dont worry, that wont discolor. Real CF will discolor if the proper resin isnt used. And it most instances those are exterior pieces.. 3M di noc is good stuff and wont fade at all. Man, how did you pop off those pieces.. I tried for the life of me to get the a/c ones and the stereo ones off and had no luck! I only ended up getting to door ones off. Any advice?? Do you just need to pry harder. Crap looked like it was gonna break though:?

When you get a little leverage look behind to where the clips are and try to get your hands as close to the clips as possible, give it a quick jerk, see if that works

I'm hoping my 5% tint will help eliminate that. Did you use the high end 3M vinyl?

Yes, I did use the 3M vinyl. But 5% window tint should help you out. My SS is tinted in the rear only, so hopefully it will hold up better for you!! Again, looks really great!!

What is the material called (please don't say carbon fiber lol) do I just search for 3m vinyl?

It is 3M di noc, it's all over eBay. 12x60 piece did everything I did with some extra and it was $31

How are the trim pieces held in? Is it just by tabs and you just "pry" them out?

Sorry to revive an old thread, but do you think this could easily be done to the steering wheel trim pieces? I'm not sure I would like wood grain there, and I know I wouldn't like the silver, but my black ones are peeling.

SW CT,
Chris, I have the same vinyl that sweetnlow used...you should be able to do the steering wheel trim only thing is that the peeled spots may show. Not sure if you can peel the rest of it off or not. You will need a heat gun and get the vinyl nice and hot so it can form around and stretch to all the different bends and convex planes.

Quick question for those of you that have used it. How permanent is this?

I am concerned that down the road if i don't want it any longer or want to sell the car, does it damage the plastic underneath?

Thanks

i saw a recent thread on an ebay company selling interior pieces with different designs rather then the woodgrain. I wasn't paying $400 for the design i liked so i chose a dyi kit

damn that looks good, i ordered my 3m wrap in matte black today, however, i want to know how you removed them pcs and what tools did you used. My main concern is the center piece near the radio. Any pictures would be helpfull or maybe the spots where the clips are located . Thanks in advance!
