I'm ordering one in a few weeks, but would like to see the different styles. I was going to order one from summit since they are only $100 but they are fiberglass and I kinda want steel, but for the price I don't know.

But post some pics of your rollpan and some info of where you got it.

I would stay away from fiberglass if possible. Steel and urethane will hold up much better. Steel is easily repairable if you bump into anything, and you can weld the gaps between the pan and quarters for a seamless, clean look. Urethane is flexible and not near as easily damaged as fiberglass, which will crack if you bump into something or lightly rearended.
I have a urethane piece from stylintrucks.com. They have a decent selection of steel and urethane rollpans.

I'm pretty sure the trucks are different than that tahoes and surburbans, but I gould be wrong.

I'd like to get a steel one, but I really can't afford to spend $250 (Sir Mikes) on one for a while. But Icould drop $100 and not have to worry about it. If I did get steel I wouldn't weld in in just incase I were to get rearended. But if I did the person responsible would have to pay for everything :)

I was curious if anyone has used the summit roll pan to see how it fit. If its going to be way off then I'll wait for the Sir Mikes but I'mstill looking

Thanks guys

Save for steel it will save you in the long run. If I had FB I would have been on 3rd one. Both due to hit and runs. If you get rear ended you won the lottery anyway.

U got Hit N Run twice therefore I'm the Loser.

Yeah that sucks man, but I have a driveway and most places I go either have cameras or is off street parking.

I can't afford to spend any money right now anyway with 2 trips coming up, but FBI has steel ones for $180 or so, but I'm pretty sure they will have to be welded in :( I'd rather have the bolt in just incase for minor incidents so I wouldn't have to cut it out or whatever.

But post pics guys if you have any.

what are you going to do with your bumper that you have on it now?? and remember that once you cut your frame, your cutting off your bumper mounts if you ever want to put a regular bumper back on it. make sure its not illegal or else youd be getting tickets quite often..

You don't have to weld in a steel roll pan. I didn't weld mine in THANK GOD! Just make sure your roll pan comes with a licence plate bucket so you can mount your license plate and aviod hastle and tickets.

REMEMBER your bumper mounts have to be cut. AND U LOOSE THE ABILITY to have your spare tire under the vechile as well as hitch.

Bumper is going in the shed with all the other parts I took off. Ya I was lookin at the pics where it got cut off. Mine is steel but bolt on. Probally get it welded when I get new paint...don't know when that is. Got the licence plate bucket. Mine has the opening behind the plate for the hidden hitch. In case I find a little Boler trailer to go campin with.
