Never heard of the Lares box. I just put in a "Plews & Edelmann"box. Completely new including the housing.
Guaranteed for life. Includes a pressure dyno sheet. I LOVE THE BOX…. ( just a little faster turn )
They are not the cheapest….. But it’s worth it.
Ever ask your mechanic about the big price difference he charged you?

Well, as my luck would have it, just as I'm about to finish putting my Tahoe back together, all of a sudden I get a call from my brother telling me a customer at his shop is selling his 2011 Avalanche for $500. Yeah $500!!! It's 4x4 with a silver body & good black leather interior. 250,000 miles. Clear title. Needs a radiator and possibly a TB and that's it. I vote yes

Went to fire up the suburban after a couple weeks of inactivity.. Battery dead.. Remote locks didn't even work..
Could this be caused by my liftglass being removed and BCM sensing that it's open?
Battery came with the truck, was new at the beginning of this year, and is a little undersized..

Charging it for now, but planning to replace it.. I'm not spending money on a stupid sidepost battery!
Maybe cut the original terminals off and bolt some generic top post clamps on?
Or do I get OEM cables from another year?

I bought the suburban thinking I could work on my Tahoe and still get around...
..but instead am working on the suburban all the time..

Finally installed GM E-fans today with a harness from @ScottyBoy. Also swapped in the correct fuse box cover assembly. Aside from the fan nut getting me to cuss in cursive the task was uneventful. Belts, a pulley and tensioners were also replaced while under the hood.

I used HPTuners to turn the fans on and adjust response parameters while staying closer to stock temperature settings than those observed with custom tunes.

I also swapped to the correct fuse box cover on my 03. Have a pic of the secondary fuse block?

The air conditioning compressor was hard to come by due to the sanctions against Russia. I actually only needed the magnetic clutch, which was defective, but RockAuto and no one else would supply it because the manufacturer can't or won't prove that no Russian steel is used.

But it would have cost around $150 including shipping anyway, and I got a brand new air conditioning compressor for €250 locally. That did require some research and a bit of luck, though.

The water pump is an AC Delco; I ordered it from RockAuto. Ordered on Friday, it arrived on Monday. It's always amazing how fast that is. I usually order parts for my car from RockAuto...
For German cars, of course, I prefer to order directly from German suppliers.

Rockauto does seem to be shipping a little faster lately..

Ordered a-premium blower motor from amazon yesterday night, showed up this morning! ~$45 shipped, better than $120 for OEM..

So far, it works excellent. Not noisy, as powerful as before. We'll see how long it holds up.
Did not see the balancing clip I usually see, but the cage spun true with no visible wobble, so it is a precise cage with good alignment..

Did not need the adapter/extension harness it came with. Fit perfectly, and it does come with the foam seal. Also packed very well.
Cage is exactly the same diameter, but tapers on the end instead of the more solid ring on the original. Similar to my gmt900 cage, sorry no pics I broke it trying to remove it to clean it a second time.

Original gmt900 blower motor, which is made in Korea.. Like the timken hubs I have for both vehicles, made in korea.
Also the orginal gmt800 Bosch motor.

So i was considering dropping my oil pan today and doing new gasket, pickup tube o ring etc... and dropping my truck off next week to have the front diff gone thru and fix my 4wd.

I was searching and found a reman unit for $1250 with free shipping and now i'm debating just doing it myself and tackling the oil pan when the diff is out.
anyone heard of this website powertrainproducts . net ?

There are a lot of used diff assemblies on ebay for $300-$400 shipped, if you don't need a fully rebuilt unit.
