’05 Yukon / OEM audio - bluetooth phone volume?

Most phone calls received, i have to close windows, and phone volume seems too low, even with Bose volume turned up to 11.
Is there an adjustment for more volume??
Even with windows up, volume is too low ( I can hear, but struggling )
( I’ll read through the owner’s manual, but sometimes that subject is vague.

Yup…. My Bose system…. all original and still works well.

A quick internet search……. nearly all say the same suggestion : Make sure radio & phone has volume turned up….

Uh,….. DUH. !!!!!

I can’t seem to find if my dash info has any adjustments for a Bluetooth use.

I know you don’t want to hear this but I put a Sony head unit and retained my speakers and Bose amp, got a kit to have my steering wheel controls work with the new unit. Bluetooth/phone works like a charm thanks to newer technology. I have a 05 z71 I don’t remember it having Bluetooth with phone connection on the Bose system

Uh, yea, my stock ’05 Yukon Bose system pairs with my Samsung. Just not loud enough for phone conversations. ( I can hear the person speaking, but tough to understand.

Never heard of a Yukon with Bluetooth before 09. No Yukon owners manual shows any Bluetooth information until 09. Maybe there’s an aftermarket device in there.

I’ll research your question……. I did replace my OnStar module with the ‘BlueStar II’ module….. All systems still operate, but without the monthly OnStar fees, and unable to contact OnStar ( which I didn't want to anyway) ... Maybe….. maybe…. The BlueStar II allows me to use the “OnStar ability” .. but able to Bluetooth my phone to make calls, but not to OnStar.

My OEM radio accepts my cell phone and the radio screen shows “ Phone” , if I make a call or receive a call.

Yes this is why your 2005 Yukon has Bluetooth. The onstar module has essentially been turned into Bluetooth via the blue star system. Factory integrated Bluetooth was not available until 2009 in the GMT900s. That was the main reason I swapped out the factory touch screen hard drive based nav headunit in my 2006 Denali Bose system for an aftermarket headunit. No Bluetooth and no back up camera.

Yes this is why your 2005 Yukon has Bluetooth. The onstar module has essentially been turned into Bluetooth via the blue star system. Factory integrated Bluetooth was not available h til 2009 in the GMT900s. That was the biggest reasons I swapped out the factory touch screen hard drive based nav headunit in my 2006 Denali Bose system for an aftermarket headunit. Np Bluetooth and no back up camera.

Thanks for enlightening me! I had no idea …. I just assumed the GMT800s .. in later years all had it. I never thought to ask.

What’s nice is my steering wheel controls support it also.

Back in the day, I was LUCKY to contact them… They sold me their last module.
The module also uses the OnStar mirror buttons & LEDs .
The system works so well, I forget to realize it isn’t a factory system.
Anyone with a 1999 - 2006 should search for a used one. Plug and play. Takes no effort to swap out the OnStar box.

But they were already out of business and I couldn’t find any left over units to purchase. This also didn’t address my want for a backup camera. The other deciding factor is that the laser that reads the disc in the DVD drive in my factory headunit was going bad so it wouldn’t always read the nav disc and never worked properly. The nav wasn’t all that helpful given it was 2006 tech and not up to date. Which is what helped make the decision to pull the factory headunit and upgrade to an aftermarket headunit.

I will update my headunit when my factory goes bad….. But so far, my OEM Bose is still perfect. I only updated the speakers.

If or when I have to replace my audio….everything will be changed... my budget will be around $2K. Have a pro-install…..

Sometimes I get nervous about my ’05 Yukon XL…. 180,000 miles….. reading about member issues….
And the only issue was the rear main seal (fixed), and the steering box leak ( fixed with a blueprinted box )..
That’s it….. Rest of my cost is only up-dating or improvements ..like hellwig sway bars, brakes, etc….

That’s it. Even my roof paint is perfect…. I got a lucky find when I bought it 6 years ago.

I have the very last module…. ( I spoke with the company… They said they had one left. ...I got lucky )..
The OnStar box is behind the glove box. All’s I had to do was unplug the OnStar box and plug in the BlueStar II.
Plug -n—play. It uses the OnStar system, ( steering wheel buttons, Mirror LEDs & buttons and the factory radio into a bluetooth to your phone . I only had to pair my phone to the radio…. That’s it !!
