Curious if anyone has an idea on how to change the gasket on the VLOM with rivets. Pulled this guy apart because it was leaking oil down the back. New gasket from FEL-PRO MS 96871 looks like the right fit but how do I get it on .

That is one whole assembly. I been through this myself. I found like 4 different gaskets from different places, only to find out it's riveted together and can't be installed. Very frustrating.

Yeah, looks like the route I am going to take is just order the entire assembly and drop it in. It will be here Wednesday so everything will be on pause till then. Thank you!

Now I am a backyard MacGuyver and tinkering freak. I could not resist trying to remove those rivets, which I did. But to put it back together with nuts and bolts just half assed is not the way I wanted it to end.

Keep us posted on your progress!

If I remember correctly, anytime the VLOM is removed, GM says it must be replaced. However, I only remove them for AFM deletes.... I would hate putting money into the AFM system.

It's worth noting that most of them I have taken off show signs of leaking oil inside.... You might find your oil pressure is improved with a new one.
