You have good points and I hope they can work out the physics.I think this might have some validity if we look at ICE cars that have “forced” hybrid system into them but Toyota, GM (Volt & ELR), and Ford have shown hybrids increase efficiency of the vehicles with none of the issue you mentioned. The starters have not been shown to be common early failure points and rod bearing are failure points on GM ice vehicles…
Not sure I follow on this one as the benefit of a hybrid is you don’t have to adopt another “fueling” infrastructure.
I’m not here to debate hybrids vs ICE vs EVs… I guess I was just initially saying big vehicles could be more efficient with modern hybrid systems while increasing performance and I’m surprised more manufactures haven’t done it.
Toyota has the best technology in this market and maybe they can improve the Sequoia to get better fuel economy and improve the payload/cargo space.
I am surprised/not surprised that Lexus is sticking to ICE for now.
