WTF…. New switches doing weird things..

Hey y’all! New to the forum and Yukon ownership! Picked up a ‘03 Yukon Denali xl, definitely needs work but it runs and I love it. (Apostrophe edit)

The buttons on all controls were super faded, drivers seat heat didn’t work but the rest did, so after some quick googling it COULD have been the door switch. Cool. Replaced that, that’s also the moment I realized I have adjustable pedals!!

Here’s the WTF part… when I try to adjust the pedals towards the firewall - nothing happens… if I push the button to bring them towards the drivers seat - my front windows go down, if I push the button to move them forward the windows go up.

Showing it to my buddy last night I was “able” to get both front windows and drivers rear window down using the pedal adjustment.

I reached out the guy I got the truck from and he swears it was working just fine cause him and his wife always had to adjust them depending on who was driving and they had just moved them.

Is it possible that something in my door control is messed up and I just have to deal with faded buttons? Or did something magically get messed up swapping the switch panel?

Was the replacement driver door module (DDM) new, or used from a like-optioned SUV? Are you sure you got the one that is compatible with your RPO codes?

BTW, I doubt your Yukon XL is 3 feet long (03'); it's probably an '03. APM - apostrophe positions matter. See the thread below for some fun.

It was pulled from the same exact suv from the junk yard (it was rear ended no longer had a 3rd row), I grabbed both of the front drivers door switches because they were brand new looking.

And no my Yukon Denali XL is not 3ft long but fixed! Thank you

When you say 'same exact SUV', were the RPO codes the same? In other words, were the trim options and customer selected options the same? Just want to make sure that we are all on the same page with 'same exact SUV'.

Also, I believe that the driver door module typically needs to be programmed to the truck's VIN, so if you pulled one from another truck, it needs to be programmed to your truck's VIN, if my belief is correct.

It was a 2003 Yukon Denali XL with all of the same exact options. Only difference was color. Door switch (windows/mirrors/locks) works perfectly, I just unplugged mine, and plugged that one in and tada! The only issue I have is pedal adjustment which is why I’m so confused.

Are you certain that the donor vehicle had adjustable pedals?

It's not uncommon for the DDM to need a programming update -- also known as a calibration -- from GM's TDS. My '04 had one available, and I did it when I had my Tech 2 and TIS2000. You might need someone who has programming capability.

Yes I am certain, I even pulled the motor assembly from it in case mine is bad. Unfortunately I don’t know anyone that has a programmable scanner and I can’t take it anywhere to check until my wheels & tires show up

It would be interesting to see if the part numbers are the same, but that would require pulling the door card unless you took pics before installing it.

I didn’t even take the full card, just the switches. Interiors are different colors, I have the tan & the donor had black.
