K2 Escalade Platinum Interior Swap to K2 Suburban

Probably not, but going to throw this out to the group: Has anyone thought about installing a Cadillac Escalade Platinum seats into the Tahoes/Subs/Yuks?
I know they come with the message seats that utilize an interface with the entertainment system. Has anyone looked into this in any capacity?

message seats? did you mean massage?
regardless they will bolt right in, the differences will be in the power harness perhaps or even the SRS sensor
any "extra" features are not going to work if you did not already have that feature unless it is fully integrated into the seat already, with exception if you had heated and went to cooled/heated you could enable the cool feature without a lot of hassle.
2nd row seats would need to come from the same wheelbase donor as a burb, xl, esv are longer and mounting configuration is different than a tahoe/yukon/escalade

The Cadillac I think had that fancy piano black haptic feedback system so I wonder if the connectors would be compatible with the the Chevy/GMC heat/cool button. I wonder if someone with some programming knowledge could integrate the seat massaging function into the infotainment system easily?

unless.... the harness doctor has a way.....but one would assume that is a vehicle integration feature which means programming and wiring that makes it basically out of reach.
the wife's truck has the butt buzzer's but that's only for warnings not for text's
that would drive me insane, bad enough that I turn that crap off as it is.

NYC cabdrivers have been leasing Tahoes / Yukons / 'burbans, then 'upgrading' the exterior and interior,
by swapping in Escalade / ESV body parts and interiors ever since it became
plain that GMT400 Yukons were badge-engineered into GMT426 Escalades in the late nineties.

By the mid naughties plenty of GMT800 'Escalade' livery vehicles in NYC were really Tahoes / Yukons / 'burbans in drag.
Upgrading the interior with Escalade stuff was about as simple as swapping interior pieces.

Three generations later, GM has made it considerably more complicated, but the aftermarket will make it doable ...

Hmmm… if someone wants to donate Escalade ESV Platinum bits to me, I’ll give it me best shot lol

I think getting general functionality will be as “easy” as plug and play but I think getting all the Esky premium bits will be the difficult part.

@Marky Dissod I think GM didn’t allow messaging massaging for the exact reason you mentioned… danger to other drivers at your pleasure LOL

Is the massage feature to turn on in the information center? My CT6 has a button on the door to turn on the massage feature. The settings and different massages are in the information center.
If its it all in the information center one would think the computer that manages the massage function you could swap out with an Escalade version. Maybe its more than that, but worth some investigating.

I will look into it a bit. I’m thinking it might be tied into Cue which is not in the Chevys… hmmm… things to think about.

Re-upping this thread as I am still looking for answers and have began the journey. I have sourced a passenger seat (still trying to find a nice driver seat) and have looked at and compared the connector to the my current truck.
Things I have found:
1) The Suburban has a “simpler” system that uses the occupancy detection module to control the heated seats whereas the Cadillac uses a seat control module. The Suburban actually has more wires than the Cadillac plug… I’m trying to figure out if I can “modify” the Cadillac seat and run the heated/vented seats thru the Chevy module. This would reduce programming requirements and might make that piece “plug and play.”
2) I cannot get the Cadillac seat to power up yet. It bolts right in but will not power up and it’s likely because the driver seat has a module that needs to communicate with the passenger seat. *stay tuned when I get a driver seat
3) SRS/airbag module looks pretty much the same. A few extra wires but I’m wondering/researching if this is connected to the adaptive cruise system that might/can detect a crash “sooner” than the non-adaptive cruise vehicles. Otherwise, I don’t think any modification is needed here. Systems are near or are identical.
4) These seats are WAY nicer than the LT seats. Blow the socks off nicer than the Denali seats too. If anyone has any information or a contact that is willing to help me with this I am more than open to support.
5) I have contacted BTDiesel and they are pretty confident that if I can get the wiring down they can get the massage features/modules programmed. I have also reached out to the HarnessDr and waiting a response. I have seen he has successfully installed heated/vented seats into a Silverado.

I will upload pictures of the plugs later if anyone cares to review.

If you took the cover and padding off of both the Suburban and Escalade seats, is the seat frame the same? Could you swap these items and achieve the more comfortable seat with all functions intact?

Frames are the same from my understanding but you still are left with the “simple” single way lumbar adjustment. I am trying to figure out how to integrate the full functionality of the Cadillac seat.

Calling on some general support… I have identified where all the wires go/come from on the seat and have a plug pin-out diagram for both the Chevy and Caddy seats. Turns out they are both VERY similar with most everything lining up. The issue I need help with now is identifying/lining up & how to repin the Caddy seat. The Chevy uses a heated seat control module (picture 1) that has several brown wires running from the seat harness to the module. The Cadillac only has, what I believe, one wire to power the seat module (picture 2) and it is only one pin position off the Chevy heated seat module power wire, from what I can tell. Does anyone have any information they can share?

You have access to a service manual? I can look when I get off work and see if that schematic tells me what those brown wires do.

I do not. If you can provide me anything I would be much appreciative! I THINK the brown/black is a communication wire of some sort and the brown wires are seat back or full heat selectors. If I’m right I’m going to be excited.

Doesn’t mean that everything is plug and play but might be a good indicator of what is needed.

Keeping everyone updated: I have found a driver seat and will pick it up on Friday. I have two Chevy style connectors as the Cadillac ones are just different enough that I cannot use them and it will give me more options for pin positions.

I have run into a slight snag as the Chevy seats use controls that are isolated to the seat only but the Cadillac has 1 wire that communicates back into the system. I am not sure where this red/white wire will need to go. The wire plugs into the seat control switches.

I’m hoping that when I get the driver seat more will make sense. Any supporting information is ALWAYS welcome.

Got the new connector pinned out how I THINK it needs to be to work but unfortunately nothing worked on the seat… no power on the seat… stay tuned

But the seat looks good and is soo much nicer than the Chevy seats.

I was just coming to update the thread to say I have acquired the driver seat today! Now the fun can really begin! This is where I can start mapping out how the seats might “talk” to one another and the rest of the truck.
