My engine replacement was almost exactly 2 months. Half waiting on engine, half waiting on work to be done. Then they scratched the door, so added some time for paintwork. I had a Hummer Ev loaner that could tow, which got me by, but was constant charging, so I only drove the Hummer when I needed a hitch. Luckily I had a couple other cars to get me around town if I didn't need the hitch for anything.I highly doubt that a failed inspection would only put me without a truck for only a day or two and I have no idea why that service rep would say that.
Maybe they have not had many failures yet or maybe they have parts for a “quick” fix.
Either way I am not happy customer and even though my dealer service department is very good based on my history with them, I certainly don’t want them to fix or replace the 6.2l in my Tahoe.
I’ve had this Tahoe HC for over a year and I really love everything about it but I am seriously considering trading it in due to this situation.
My biggest concern is that I don’t think there is any difference between the 2024 and ‘25 or ‘26 Tahoe 6.2l engines.
My truck has everything but 4WD and Super Cruise. I don’t want 4WD but I really regret not getting Super Cruise.
