Installed a new Magnaflow performance Y pipe, problem is the drivers side flange isn’t seating properly even when tightened as much as I can crank it. Feel like it’s close to snapping and I’m not gunna overdo it. Anyone else go thru this and would an exhaust manifold gasket potentially fix this issue. Any tips or point in the right direction Is super appreciated. I’m stressed out lol.

Magna Flow has a technical assist section on manga flow.com that might be helpful. Otherwise, you might try expand the male side of the set up. I once used a small fiberglass patch that wrapped around the male side. It goes on wet but the exhaust heats it up and hardens/seals the joint. Hope that helps.

Driver's side has a ring for a seal. If it's missing, crushed or loose, it's not going to seal.

These numbers are for a 5.3, trust but verify!

I was in disbelief that GM would use two, completely different gaskets for what seemed to be identical connections. I had no issues with my (CARB-rated) Magnaflow Y-pipe install. What @swathdiver said...
