I have a 1995 two door Tahoe Z71. I replaced the steering box with a stock parts store replacement, but now my steering shaft is about 4" too short. I have worked with three parts stores and all show the same part # for the steering box. I of course used the old one as a core. Can someone point me in the right direction?

I took a quick look at my online parts catalog, and it looks like these parts are discontinued by GM. So, you'll need to go to a salvage yard with a ruler and find the longer shaft or different steering box (whichever is really the mismatched part), or possibly look on eBay with the part number and see if an aftermarket compatible part is available.
Other members of this Forum much more knowledgeable than me in this area will chime in with hopefully some more/better options for you.

The stock steering shaft is about 18.5" long. What is the length of yours? Are you saying there is absolutely no difference in the steering gear box that you had on the Tahoe compared to the new one. A 4" difference should be noticeable. Also, what will be your bleeding procedure when you refill the system?
Pics and measurements of the existing shaft would help, as well as the gear box. I looked and the 5.7 and the 6.5 diesel Tahoes, take the same gear box

I first thought of that but 2 things, you would think the OP had already checked and the new ones did not appear to have that capability.
