Hi guys
A gentleman.told.me I had no left rear tail light. Bought new bulbs wasn't the reason. Checked tail light fuses and they were good. Tested the socket. No power to tail light but brake light side was.getting power. I saw a thread on here about the LR park fuse. Pulled it. Sure enough, blown. Replaced it and light works.
But it lasted a few hours. Now the fuse blows immediately. Any help where to look for a reason would be appreciated. Im a dummy when it comes to auto electical so take it easy on me
Thanks in advance

It would be good to know what you're working on. Consider adding your year, make, model, engine, etc. to your signature so it's always there.

You could inspect and clean the connections at the junction box shown in the video below. You can find a wiring diagram on charm.li to match wiring colors:

Take a closer look at the specific offending bulb socket for any cracks or corrosion that may be shorting out the contacts.

Take a close look at the wire loom as it passes into the truck's body and look for an signs of chaffing that may be causing a short. A long shot, but it happens.

If you have a 7-pin trailer connector, also verify that its contacts are clean. The trailer lights are on different fused circuits but can cause issues with the body lamps since both go through the turn signal flasher.

I'd have looked at the specific wiring diagram for yours but you never provided detail, and the wiring can vary. Glad you found it.

I'm glad that you were able to find the source issue and resolve it.

I recommend that you adjust the title of your thread to include the word "SOLVED" solved in all caps.

This will help others in the future who are experiencing a similar issue, by giving them an example of one potential solution to that issue.

Good troubleshooting work!
