Got the rear A/C working! This was on the to do list but further down the line, but the wife pushed it to the front. Swapped out the HVAC box to fix a broken blend door, then two actuators. Nice and cold.

Today was a day of cleaning and shining my 24 year old Tahoe on its anniversary. I purchased my Tahoe 24 years ago this week on July 13, 2001 from Casey Chevrolet in Newport News, VA. My Tahoe is our trip vehicle and has been a great vehicle on the highway, it loves to do 80. The color is Forest Green with the a tan cloth interior that are in excellent shape. It is parked in my garage every night along side my 1970 Monte Carlo that is Tourquoise with a black vinyl top that I have owned for over 50 years.
My Suburban is 24 years old now also. Well. actually it's 25 years old now. It's a 2001 which was sold in 2000 as a 01 model. I purchased it used in January 2006 with 52k miles on it and have been driving it ever since. Mine is also Forest Green with tan interior.

I'm used to 70s/80s trucks and I've seen heavy seepage, this is really small and not even creating a loss. The oil is full and clear after 4000 miles and there aren't any drops on the ground. This guy that saw it yesterday was just unrealistic.

I think the Yukon will find a deserving owner just the way it is. It is a highly original vehicle that was owned by an Air Force base for the first 20 years or so.
yours looks wayyy better than mine, and I wouldn't even consider mine leaking

That would be my favorite color combination, but I have not been able to score one yet.

Today I attempted to jumpstart my wife's Suburban, twice, and failed. Then, on a hunch, I jiggled the positive leads coming to the battery. THEN it started... So we'll need new cables there.

I successfully jumpstarted our Escalade which hadn't been driven for about 6 weeks. It's still running strong, and blowing super hot air to the front passenger... I have to pull the dash to replace the blend door.

AC went out on my daughter's Suburban; it's the blend door again. You know? The one that requires dash removal to access it? Yay.

came out to a stone dead battery this morning. had to take the hot rod to work, after work i left jumper cables on it for 30 minutes, nothing more then a click, but also noticed the blower fan was on key off. went and bought a new battery. old one lasted 7 years. fan still runs key off. so google tells me its the resistor, so went and ordered a new one. looks like ill be pulling and putting in the blowers J fuse for the next few days if i want ac.

Perfect timing for the ac to go out--during our heatwave.

My daughter is having to do that with her 2003 Sierra. She is out of state for about 2 more weeks, then I get to do that for her. She's pulling the fuse in the meantime. She admitted she doesn't plug it back in for short trips.

I have a bit of respect for her -- in addition to pride! -- she has a calm head; she notices things, and then she works to resolve them. And she's not afraid to ask for help if she doesn't know. Not that I'm biased or anything...

that new blower motor resistor came late sunday, so it went in after work today, (20 minute job pretty much) so far its working as it should.

new part comes with a new harness and they want you to cut the plug off the truck side harness (no directions with new part) and splice the new wires from the new parts harness to the trucks harness. i found a vid where the guy unpinned the truck side harness plug. then unpinned the pinned wires out of the new parts harness and repined the truck side into the parts side plug. worked perfectly, and no cutting or crimping or soldering. clean install.

Much better idea. I had cutting the factory harness if I don't have to.
