I had to coast 7 miles, and drop 3,000 feet, just to get to pavement so the truck would pickup.

Transmission time bomb chose the top of that mountain.
well.... it didn't give you any heads up? usually the torque converter starts being goofy before it implodes.

So far looking at the numbers and trading a few emails with PSS to do this on the GMT900 if you purchase a lightly used 10l80e transmission (<10K miles) with a torque converter plus the PSS kit…
You’re looking at about an additional $1,500+/- more than a built 6l80e plus aftermarket billet torque converter.
For me once you’re in for $6-7K what’s another $1,500; But I’m not everyone.
Might be worth considering depending on your vehicle mileage and how much longer you plan on keeping it.

Took it on a 5.5-6 hr trip this morning to get my boy who was up past Lake George. 2.5 hrs up and 2.5 hrs down the NYS thruway. Filled it up before we left and according to the dash it averaged about 21-22 mpg @ 75-80 mph.
Current mileage is just over 98k
Oil change tomo or this week some time as im just under 5k since last oc.
On a side note i saw a newer Escalade and newer Denali on the side of the thruway with hoods up… all i could think was oh boy…. Someone didn’t get the recall letter yet……

Manual calculations are the true way to determine mileage. Vehicle displays can be higher or lower. I’ve been logging fuel for the last 4 Tahoes, (16,17,20&21) and all vary from actual many times.

Started tuning with HPT over the weekend. BlueCat transmission tool is amazing. There is a LOT of shit for the engine end of things, lol.
