I did an internet search of 2025 Yukon Denali diesels available in the Midwest within 200 miles from where I live. Only 8 turned up. I called on 5 of those Yukons and 4 dealers would not budge from MSRP. One dealer had a bottom line that was $800 over MSRP and told me that was as low as he would go. A couple of those Yukons had been sitting on the lot for over 20 days. I’m 65 and bought 9 new cars in my life. I have never had a dealer that started negotiations at MSRP and not budge from it. Anybody getting the same experience?

HaHa!
Im 70 and noticed the same thing but not from my Chevy dealership.

My first choice was Toyota Sequoia (before I actually did the research and drove one) and every Toyota dealership within 200 miles was asking more than sticker prices and when I asked if they would negotiate none of them said they would budge from the over sticker price. Most were 1-2 thousand dollars more than sticker!!!!

Ford Expedition was the most negotiable for every dealer I contacted ( most were willing to come off $5k just over the phone) and my local Chevy dealer said they would match or beat any deal I could find on a new Tahoe. They ended up coming off sticker by a couple grand and I also got them to get rid of the $3k for “Exterior and Interior protection” coatings they put on all the new vehicles.

Rivard GMC in Tampa sells at about 8% off MSRP. They do add about $1300 in misc "fees" to that, but it's still better than anyone else and no BS add-ons. I've heard good things about Laura GMC near STL as well, but my experience with Rivard was great. Ordered, paid depost, and 3 months later had the car. My salesperson was Chris Garcia, and he was great.

I will second Rivard and Chris Garcia.

Easy quick deal. Flew down to drive it back to SC.

Loved when I went to pick up my new Yukon I was at dealership for less than 10 minutes before I was on way home. Well, I went to Casino and won $1800, then I drove home.

I called Rivard sand spoke with Miguel Alverez. He as 4 on order with the Diesel. The only one that had the air suspension and black interior came in black paint which is the one color I did not want. I ended up putting a $1000 deposit on as Frost white tri coat and the tan and shale interior. It has the prefer package that I wanted but has the standard Z95 Magnetic ride control. I was told that the 8% off MSRP is the starting point and might be a little more. The dealer fee is $995 plus another $197 fee.
Thanks to all for the advice and seconding thjat advice. Saved me lots especially that I live in Illinois and they charge a 8.83% sales tax. The lowered MSRP will also result in significant savings with the sales tax calculation.

@Fossil Fool I don’t want to burst your bubble, but you will pay sales tax n IL. IL will collect the delta between your local tax due and the tax paid in the other state.
Works the same in Canada too.

14% sales tax where I live . Oh, don’t forget the luxury tax if your vehicle is over $100k.

I don't deny that 8% off is a good deal, but I doubt they would offer that on an Ultimate. Also, Florida dealers are complete gangsters on dealer fees. Some are 1500.00+... My dealer fees on my incoming vehicle are $195 and that's enough... But hey, I'm not getting eight percent off either....

Been trying to get a Denali Ultimate diesel since March, but my dealer has not been able to get an allocation so that I can place an order. He's a friend, so I am not shopping other dealerships. He isn't even certain if the hold up is the Denali Ultimate package or the diesel, as no one from corporate is being transparent about this.

More than likely it's the diesel. I see quite a few ultimate's out there if you do the searching. But diesels are somewhat of a unicorn, and even more somewhat of a unicorn when you get down to an ultimate only. Most dealers wouldn't order one that way because they don't want to get stuck with it when they have 10 buyers walk in the door and it's sitting there and every one of them says I would have bought it if it wasn't a diesel. They don't care what it is they want it gone to the first person who will take it whatever its configuration is.

I assume you are aware there is a major maintenance that must be done around 90,000-100,000 miles on the 3.0L diesel. The oil pump belt replacement requires the transmission to be removed. Very expensive.

Yep, he's gonna pay 8.83%! I don't think it is the delta either. Sales tax is collected in the state it is registered in. I bought my Yukon in Illinois but only paid the 5% tax for Wisconsin. Was right there in the sales contract.

$3900 off list and we’re told add’l $500 educator discount. High Country with HC deluxe, ordering the vehicle. This is only 4.4%. Are folks getting 8%
Or $7k off? No add ons.

I’ve seen higher like I said, $10k off LS 2WD in CA, dunno if legit. I’ve also seen $2700 off in my area on web and I think the cars have been on the lots 2+ mos. Not sure if last 6 in VIN is an indicator but seems new ones are 300000 and the ones with discounts in the 200000’s.

If we made a blunder and should have gotten 8% off we can cancel and get our deposit back. Probably wouldn’t be pleasant

200,000 miles. I’m sure you knew that.

At first, like you and everyone else, i thought i read that he thought he was going to get a better deal by paying a lower sales tax in florida vs. his registration state (IL)

but after re-reading it, i interpret it as that he was referring to the lowered MSRP of the vehicle buying it in florida will save him money paying IL sales tax, which would be accurate.

I purchased a 2025 AT4 Ultimate Duramax about 3 weeks ago and it was discounted $5,300. I committed to it while it was enroute to the dealer from the factory. It was about 600 miles from me so I tried to get a few dealers closer to me to match the price, but all of them told me they couldn't come close to the offer I had.

The dealer I purchased from did everything remotely, no mandatory add-ons, and delivered it quickly - it was in my driveway within 1 week of my initial call to them.
