Finally finished wrapping top of a door. Used Vivid black piano gloss vinyl. Installed window wind deflectors in same color. Now it looks stunning.

I think you should keep at it. With your current cost in the truck it is still FAR cheaper than any other work truck.
I had similar issues as you did with mine as I had to undo so many janky fixes. If I am following your thread correctly, you are on the final stretch as you fixed the brake lights and just have the ABS lights now?
If so you are basically there. These are easy to maintain once they are fully operational and given your price point, I would not be concerned until your bills start totaling $4-5k. Your truck in full running condition is a $6-8k truck (imo).
I found this ABS assembly what you guys think about it? I think it comes as a whole. I will take it apart, solder and add thermopaste rtv glue it and give mechanic to install. I got a gift card from company on $200 this should be enough to cover part.

I think this is a good dice roll. You get a lot of good extra parts too.

Unfortunately that seller doesn't respond at all. I found another one but that unit is from 2000 suburban 1500. I have my vin to a seller, he confirmed that part fits to my 2500. Does it really matter?

Eh… not sure. I would cross check the part number on advanced auto or another parts site to see if it is truly interchangeable. I am not sure.

You are right. I don't know what database seller is using. But he is right, also I found some other sellers that told me same thing

Can someone explain me how it works. If I buy a ABS unit from same vehicle, do I have to reprogram it? So far nobody can tell me. Some shops say yes you have to, some say no you don't just swap it. Some say oh let's repair yours it will take a week, price is relatively same , everyone is asking for around $500. But I'm on a crossroads what should I do?

Personal experience: No programming needed. If the unit is for a GMT800 Sub 2500, it will work.

Just received a unit. Looks not bad. Currently on a process of opening a cover.

I opened it but I don't see any bad soldering or some stuff like that . I will add new thermopaste and rtv. This unit looks solid..came out from 2500 2000 suburban 8.1L

You mentioned from previous post you got some type vibration and growling from pedal. I got an 04 Yukon doing something similar. Had a hell of a time getting a decent brake pedal. Replaced lined and all 4 rotors and calipers (plus rubber lines that connect caliper to hard line). Fluid flushed. Every time I start I get a growl and jolt from brake pedal....it's worse when sitting over night on first startup. Lessons after being run for a a while. Brake pedal feels normal once you start driving...only get symptoms on startup. Did you have any of these symptoms? Anyone else?

Nothing like that. I have no idea what may cause it. I had that thing only once but I connect it with ABS because abs light was come and go and brake light switch was doing same thing.

I installed TpM sensors today and did Ballance, while tires were out in a shop I took a peak on rotors. What you guys think. Should I replace them or they are ok.
After balancing truck drivers even better. Not shaking anymore. Abs light is still on, but it comes and go. Sometimes I got no codes and dash is without ABs and brake light, sometimes it's on randomly.

Rotors look crusty but fine. Do they have grooves on them or have a lip on the edge?
The pads might be aging a bit and need replaced but also not a great angle.

Did you install the new ABS module? All in all, there doesn’t seem to be much frame rust which is GREAT!!!

No, no lip, light Saturn rings but nothing deep. Probably I will go with brake pads replacement. And I haven't installed ABS module yet. I want to do everything in one shot. ABS module, wheel speed sensors front, new pads. Oil change.

Just picked these from body shop. I think they should be good . Freshly painted.
And currently I'm on a market for Tahoe, or Yukon with up to 150k miles, Southern no rust trucks preferred.

I want to change gearbox oil. What is your recommendation, any specific brand or type or just random ATF from AutoZone? Thanks

Depends on the gearbox, don't it?
If it's a 4L60E, Dexron6 is excellent.
The Dexron previous to D6 is good enough, but change it much sooner than Dexron6.

(Even better than Dexron6 would be Dexron 6 by LubeGard, OR the 8L90E ATF, but likely not worth the extra expense to you.)
