Wow! I bought a used 2021 Yukon Denali w/6.2L ~1.5yrs about with 49Kmiles. Have been towing 5500lbs for 12K and now up to 61Kmiles - all with no trouble and LOVE the rig!

Yikes - but reading the comments, it seems like this is suspected to be a 5% (of all 21-24 engines) failure? Waaaay to high for sure but I'm saying to myself that since I'm at 61K with no trouble this is likely a good sign for my personal situation and 'avoiding over reaction' is likely a good course for now. Later on, if the engine fails - then....

Part of my perspective is that my 2004 V8 AWD SRX at 170K miles has had 10s of thousands of dollars of repair over the 21yr (and counting) ownership. The engine had to be repaired 3 times in the 1st 3 months with major oil leaks and over the life of the vehicle its been one thing after another - bit by bit - including a failed transmission at only 70K miles, AWD hydraulics completely replaced at 100K miles, and several engine repairs as some of the major ones. When the AWD began to fail it would surge in/out and the wheel action would cause it to swerve a bit on at high speed - actually a bit dangerous.

My point - even rigs without recall have plenty of issues so maybe this won't even be my biggest issue for my Yukon! over a 20yr life. Sometimes a wider perspective can ease anxiety.

So if you spent 80-120k for a vehicle then you should have shopped around unless you got an Escalade cause my dealership has NEVER had an 80K 6.2 truck. Loss of propulsion is not gonna get you killed unless you are driving some insane speed or driving like speed racer.

What a *******. I bought a Yukon Denali for a good price. If you’re really working for a GM dealership and aren’t just a troll, you ought to be canned.

Here’s my “N of 1” experience as of two days ago: I took my 2024 Yukon XL AT4 with the 6.2L in for an unrelated warranty repair and had them change the oil (for the 3rd time) while they had it right at the 12,300 mile mark. I had them save the filter for future analysis.

My service advisor, who is OUTSTANDING in providing me way above average service, and on par with both Audi and BMW dealerships (I owned a number of both), told me flat out that he’s hearing it’s not a matter of if but WHEN “I’ll get a letter to come in for engine replacement,” and to “hurry in getting back to me to schedule, as there will be a lot of others receiving letters too and I want you taken care of in a few days vs. weeks and weeks out as these stack up.”

He said they’ve already received a number of replacement motors but no indication of any timeline or what will be communicated to owners aside from “a letter.” He made no comment or even expressed any knowledge or understanding when I brought up 0W-40 oil.

My vehicle is showing the recall in the myGMC app, and my build date was definitely in the winter of 2023 as I picked up new on 1/6/24. What a $ h ! T show this is.

We have been told we cant get any engines yet so dont know how they have engines in waiting. Last time we ordered a complete 6.2 engine it took almost a month. I already have customers calling and I have told them by their vin number it says remedy not yet available.

I got under my 2024 Yukon Denali XL with 2230 miles on it.
I looked up behind the exhaust pipe on the driver side and found my engine number tucked away. According to what I have been seeing, motors made with a date code of 24183 and after are OK.
My date code is 24137.
Which means the 137th day of 2024.
My build date is 5/24....
Accoding to this I should be getting a new engine.
I see nothing in my GMC app, nothing on NTSB site, nothing on GM Recall site when i plug in my VIN.
HMMMMMM......
I got the truck with 14 miles on it, and immediatly did an AFD/STOP START Delete inline, changed the oil to 0w40 early and put in a catch can.
Motor is running fine, but it only has 2300 miles on it.
I guess I will wait and see.

@Vinmega you’re not getting an engine, when they are ready you will get an inspection, oil change and a 10 yr/150k special engine warranty. Only 3% of the 3.2m engines have a defective internal part, the rest are fine.

Drive the truck and dint look back, if you manage to blow the engine they will have plenty, do it faster then ever and the 2025 engines don’t have an issue (redesigned parts and oil port).. 104 pages of people speaking out without facts is silly
