My wife commutes 50 miles a day in our 2014 Escalade. 35 miles is a state highway at 60 MPH. The rest is in town will stop lights. While the Escalade is averaging 18 to 20 miles per gallon with the AFM deleted.... LOL, I must mention that she gets scared if she gets it over 2,000 RPM. I got her a set of pirelli scorpions, she has about 30,000 miles on them.... Not even 25% worn. Yep, her 6.2 should go at least 400,000 miles. She used to drive a Ford excursion with the 6.0 powerstroke.... But I got tired of having to blow out the carbon on the weekends ;-)

I’ve got the 5.3 in a 2010 Tahoe and dash monitor shows about 14-15 mpg. It is what it is. Don’t care.

Completely normal. We average 15mpg on the highway and 11mpg around town in an ESV. I get 13mpg mixed in my 08.

2012 Denali XL wife gets about 14-15 around town and 16-17 highway @80MPH. Just finished a 1,500 mile trek to Utah and back (from CA Bay Area) and averaged about 15 @85-90MPH. All stock except a bigger tranny cooler for towing occasionally, 175K miles and runs great.

It's you, not the machine. First (if you're not heavy footed), the brake pedal is NOT the pedal drivers should use to control their speed - it's the WRONG petal. If I were following you, would I see your brake lights constantly flashing? Not only is this an attribute of poor drivers, it kills fuel efficiency. Rethink, and try not to follow so close. Pay attention and don't 'run up' behind someone then have to brake. Don't "ride" the brake pedal. Take your foot from the brake when you go down a hill. Feather the accelerator. If not of this is you, I apologize. Every day I see people hit the brakes just to change lanes....no other reason.

Nearing 200k miles with a 6.0 or 6.2 V8 and wanting better mileage. Smaller engine, ease up on gas pedal and be consistent about wanting to burn through less fuel. Or find a smaller SUV, 2wd with 4 or str8 6. 86 Fed fleet suburban, 2bbl on 350ci. Locker hubs and absolutely no frills beyond 1" rubber floor mats all through. Was follow me rig at Moffett Field NAS near San Jose, CA. It will do high teens but has low end knock from creek error one day.

mine gets closer to 24 on the highway but 21. in soccer mom hell is about right.

got 17 towing a car a 1000 miles.

all happy on 87. but you need to be mechanic to own one lol. ain't noone willing to fix them anymore. recently saw a post from a guy in Houston that couldn't find a shop to change a rare main seal.

they really have everyone scared to death of working on hybrids these days. recently talked to a guy that was teaching a class but before that he worked at lkq, which owns most of the hybrid battery replacement services, all under different names like green bean. he said half his job is driving around the region to body shops that wouldn't work on crashed ones till someone said it was safe. he'd pull up, remove the one orange disconnect plug and get paid for it lol.

Try a 2023...I had a 2019 before and this baby (2023) is a pig. But YES I can sit and wait for my wife for 20+ minutes on idle. And YES if I want I push her I do BIG TIME!!.
But I have one question if you are not towing / hauling why would you buy one of the biggest V8 monsters on the market. Other than with the right tires (Michelins) it's like sitting in my Lazy-Boy. At 120k plus taxes and in Canada Luxury tax cause over 100k. I have to expect to have to pay. I now have about 16,000 miles and the oil/filter has been changed 4 times. The first 2 the oil was analyzed for shavings. I'll tell you I will have the best unit on the road. And when I asked her to perform "she does".
