ya that's the dorman fob & programmer I have sold a bunch of those before. the programmer is only good for 3 uses so be sure to do it correctly the 1st time then you will be to do it again years down the road or something if need be.
Only 3 times? I guess no one has figured out how to defeat that yet.

Truck has been running pretty good, especially with this little bit of cooler weather.
have noticed a bit of cold start exhaust leak, thought it might be the manifold so went by the muffler shop and had them check it and couldn't find much but the clamp from the y-pipe to the muffler leaks a bit it's a pos oem clamp anyway and found the Borla muffler was cracked on the inlet seam, so welded that up and then took it to the dealer to have them check the manifold anyway since they had it off and they did a smoke test and nothing up front but that clamp is leaking pretty good and found another crack in the Borla on the outlet end.
so back to the muffler shop and they welded the other end of the muffler. Asked what a solution is for that pos clamp and we are going to cut the pipe right there and install a set of stainless flanges and a band clamp just had to order one in 3 1/2" so that will get done Friday

been thinking about a carven as it sounds pretty nice on the Silverado but the shop said I would likely get drone in the suv

I had drone with my MBRP, thank God it rotted out. Forced me to get another, quieter muffler. No more drone.<----This statement is how I know I'm getting old lol.

So what did you go with? I'm toying with mufflers to leave the bark, but minimize drone in the SUV cabin, especially in the rear seat area. For some reason the drone is much worse back there.

While looking for Doubeleive's Borla on ebay I stumbled on this curious muffler, and am thinking about picking one up to experiment: https://www.ebay.com/itm/394550775597

@iamdub made a hemholtz mod like that
He did! He provided some links to the formula calculator that let you design your own, if you knew the variables, like engine size, drone @RPM, etc...

I actually spent some time looking for a part that was only the resonator tube attached to a short section of exhaust, so I could fit it inline with my muffler, and not have to mess with too much fabrication.

I don't remember what I went with. @iamdub actually suggested a knockoff of a major brand. Made by AP I think. Sounds good and it was cheap.

I have an AP muffler, and I think it may have been the same one. It definitely has less drone than the MBRP clone muffler I have installed now, but it quiets down the overall sound as well. I wish I could have my current sound, but less interior drone.

Might buy that QW muffler and play around.

The other thought is to buy the short version, but also grab another short, but wider, muffler/resonator in case the QW muffler is obnoxious. I wish mufflers had a strong 2nd-hand market like gun parts, lol.

I replaced the clamp but it didn't help much. the joint looks like a good design, the clamp just bottoms out before it gets tight enough.

That, and the bolt and "nut" rust to shít in a year.

I feel like there should be a tapered seal that fits in the normal joint to help seal it up.

I believe there was a youtube guy that did the drone mod. he get into the sizing. said it worked well.

I have what gm calls the nnp exhaust on my car they have valves that open and close controlled by the ecm. I wish everything had it, it's the best of both worlds.
