I did a lot of research to see what was needed to mount these tires on my stock 20”
rims, on my Yukon XL AT4 (air suspension). I did use the Westcott Designs fender liner pullback kit with great success as there’s no rubbing at the rear of the fender liner after doing the mod and the front clears fine with no mod needed.

It’s hard to tell from the photos below but I took some before and after photos to show the additional clearance, which appears to be at least a few inches gained with the bracket. Pro tip: the bolts are metric and I believe require a 15MM socket.

The tire in the above photos is a Bridgestone Blizzak DMV-2 but I just swapped over the OEM rim with the BFG’s mounted. After some extremely helpful feedback from @nick14226 regarding tire pressure and the calculator he supplied, I aired them up to 45 PSI and had them bolted on.

My initial thoughts are the truck rides a lot more stiff, which I’m not sure how much is due to the LT BFG tires or the fact I switched over from my soft snow tires. I’m guessing partially because of both variables. Overall road noise is non-existent with the BFG’s which is a testament to the sound-proofing on these new rigs. Handling, while a little more stiff, is still quite remarkable.

In the looks department, this is EXACTLY what I was hoping for. It give the truck a great stance without any crazy mods or downsizing rims for a bigger sidewall. Also the off-road performance should be profoundly improved vs the stock off-road “pavement princess” OEM Goodyears.

Looks great. Have you had them on long enough yet to see what the mileage difference might be?

I went from the stock 22's on my Denali to 275/60/20 BFGs with Fuel wheels and lost about 2 MPG. Guessing he will see something similar. I wasn't a fan of the harsher ride either so I went back to the stock wheels with a different tire. But I will say the BFGs are the best looking tire. They are incredible in the snow as well.

I am considering the same tires on my 2025 Yukon XL AT4. One question - did you change the spare? Does a 285/60/20 fit in the spare tire compartment?

Those look great on your XL. I have the BFG KO3's on my '24 2500HD, they made that truck ride so much better. Heavy tho, sapped a few mpgs.

I have run several sets of KO2s on my Land Cruiser and have a set of KO3s on my Suburban. Great tire. The LC and I do some mild-off-roading (Tahoes and Subs would not make it) and they are a great tire offroad. Suburban mainly sees beach sand and it handles it just fine.

@AliBaba my Yukon XL has the air ride suspension. My feedback is the oversized LT tires look great, perform off-road great, but ride quite stiff and my mileage has taken a 3-4 MPG hit vs my winter tire setup. I still love them and would do it again!

Perfect. I’m literally at the shop right now having them installed.

I drive a 6.2L XL, MPG is not at the top of my list. Other than that my prior ride was a 2500HD and that was a hard ride. Can’t be more stiff than that.

Awesome!!! I’d love to see some photos of your rig with the KO3’s mounted as I haven’t seen them “in the wild” yet. The ride is still great and if anything, is no different than the 21’ and 22’ Yukon short wheelbase Denalis I owned which had 22” rims

Stock (outside) vs KO3’s (parking garage). Ride feels so much more stable actually with more ground contact from wider tires. The old tires felt wobbly now.

Yes you can also feel the weight of the tires but to me it gives it that real truck feel but not as bad as an HD.

So far I’m in love. Will be doing a 5 hour road trip tomorrow so we will see how much I like them after this weekend.

Just curious, what year is your AT4? ...And I saw you said it has the air suspension...but no other suspension mods / leveling kits? Did you need to do Wescott fender liner fix?

Mine is a 23’. I do have adjustable links but only have it .5” in the front and stock rear height. I aired it down all the way and it’s pretty close so I did order the fender pull back kit and should be getting it tomorrow.
