So I’m confused.
It was my understanding, from this forum, that 00-02 had steel hatches and then gm swapped to aluminum in 03 because struts were giving out prematurely with steel hatches.
Now I hear it’s random depending on production plant?
Also I didn’t do anything to my gmt800 today because it’s in storage in AZ while I’m in AK :,(
Were there any other plants making the SUVs? I flew to Oregon in 2017 to pick up my 2005 Suburban 2500. It had a built in Arlington, TX sticker on it. I just laughed.Dave, good to see you around! The liftgate on my '04 is not ferrous, built in Arlington TX if it matters.
What year is it from?Snagged takeoff 4 piston calipers/pads/water (dust?) shields off eBay that look hardly used. Now to figure out what all else I need. Stainless lines, rotors, fluid, M14 washers...
Which Motive bleeder model # are folks using? @Rocket Man
Description didn't say what year - they look pretty new, though. What year is it from?
my 2005 GMC Yukon Denali was built in Janesville, WisconsinWere there any other plants making the SUVs? I flew to Oregon in 2017 to pick up my 2005 Suburban 2500. It had a built in Arlington, TX sticker on it. I just laughed.

Bill

Do you expect to get the same one back, or did you send it in as a core?Sent the Climate Control in for repair on the Denali since turning the temp knob usually didn't do much to adjust the temp setting.

Not sure if the squeak is gone, but holy crap, this thing rides like a different truck. Never again, unless racecar, will i do a poly transmission mount. Also gone is the weird harmonic vibration I would get at 70MPH/2100RPM in 4th.Put an OEM rubber transmission mount in replacing the Energy Suspension poly. Need to drive it a bit and see if any effect on my squeak.
Daughter came over to craft shop with wife/mom so I got her car's oil changed and a wash then cleaned the inside windows.
Same one, it's in great shape looks wiseDo you expect to get the same one back, or did you send it in as a core?
=/ . I have a new Energy Suspension trans mount sitting on my work bench. BUT I ALSO just replaced the transmission mount with a parts store unit. I was hoping to see the same results like the Front/rear sway bar bushings did. Best mod under $100 bucks I've done. Not sure if the squeak is gone, but holy crap, this thing rides like a different truck. Never again, unless racecar, will i do a poly transmission mount. Since you've already swapped it out before, you know the process. Would take you 15 minutes to put the ES one in and give it a couple months driving. You might like it? Mine was in for 5 years - only reason I got it was because I had a horrible drivetrain clunk that I was chasing with the parts cannon, which ended up being the slip yoke needed greasing.=/ . So that's what they're calling it these days...Fluid filmed her all up before the salt and snow hits
