Also did some trading with a buddy, and got a couple rc crawlers. One complete, one mostly complete, and 3 different bodies. The goal will be to get the buggie looking body set up as a hard core rig, and get the other chassis set up mostly stock for the wife, or whatever

The two full bodies ( one is cut down)

IMG_20230114_233850218_HDR.jpg

The other body

Some upgraded tires!!

IMG_20230209_222141842_HDR.jpg

Running the truck for the first time with the new tires.

So got to use the generator again also! Had it running for 5 days. We had weather come in and some ice. Brought down trees all over and messed up lots of lines. I have a big tree to clean up at some point.

IMG_20230223_085024568_HDR.jpg

IMG_20230223_085044466_HDR.jpg

Camper shelter to the rescue!! The ice melted the next day, and snowed the following day.

IMG_20230224_110721521_HDR.jpg

The most inconvenient thing was keeping it fueled up. It will run everything but the hot tub at once. So for what it was we was doing much better than many in our area.

IMG_20230224_113753070_HDR.jpg

And one of the most recent things is that I sold the Saturn this weekend. Good little car, but just a little bit toooo little. Fine for one person. But bumping elbows with two. So gonna get the nicer grand prix going again and use that for milage.

Got new brake parts coming for the prix, so can get that in the road.

IMG_20230311_084555247_HDR.jpg

Little brother wrecked his car and dad went to get it with the Tahoe. Had a tire throw the tread, ripped off the fender from the trailer. However it didn't loose air!

IMG_20230310_164448411_HDR.jpg

Then the fun of dealing with seized caliper pins on the hoe. Had a little grinding, had to get the caliper bracket red hot to get the pins out. Drill bit in the hole, wire brush, and grease the snot out of them, with the cheapest pads I could get my hands on, as in a couple months I am hoping to have the pickup going, and be ripping the axles out for one tons and solid axle swap.

Also got something done that has made a nice difference this summer, and can't wait to see how much difference this winter. And had some blown insulation done. Supposed to have like 18". And we had like 4"

Grabbed a trailer made from an old uhual that will store some belongings for. Some family while when lives in France for a year. After she comes back I will being buying it from her, should be a nice addition to the yard for either storage and or hauling things.

IMG_20230726_172040163_HDR.jpg

IMG_20230731_190921828_HDR.jpg

IMG_20230817_182943474_HDR.jpg

Got a new realtor to help sell her mom's house, and this is what he showed up in. Not that it is my favorite, but is super clean good looking low mile car.

Ok, ow for a bunch of fun stuff. Got some pew pew updates. I managed to grab a shield plus after having enjoyed the first gen shield. Managed to get it with a coupon, as well as an awesome rebate.

The standard shield plus is 400 on sale most places, and I managed to get this one with optic cut, and night sights shipped ffl fee iny had for 400 flat! Plus the rebate was for three free mags. Which is like another 100 worth of mags. In total I figure I got 650 worth of goods for 400. And I have to say I am quite happy with it.

Both together. The shield has a 7rd and 8 is the extended mag.

The plus is 10 / 13. And the free mags ended up being 15 rds.

And one that was super fun I finally got to restoring the .22 rifle. I will have many pics. Most of the metal was just a clean and lube , and the wood was sand bare and refinish. Anyway, here it was.

So it wouldn't let me upload as many as I wanted. Pics too big. But here are some in progress.

Sanded down

Had a minor crack in the meniscus of my knee for a good share. Of the summer, so I got quite behind on several things. But finally got back to them. And made the progress on the avy.

And dad at 81 years old finally hit his first deer that actually did damage!!! Only took the guy like 70 years of operating equipment and driving ( and he ran his own wrecker service, so he was on the road alot). To actually hit one.

And let me tell you, it is a pain to get the seats out when the fronts don't want to move. However an air chisel and some determination got them out! Lol

So we got the avy loaded and headed in, butting the Denali to work again. Grossed just under 13k rolling down the road. About 4k in scrap.

IMG_20231017_115159063_HDR.jpg

Kinda broke my heart, when they went to lift the avy off the trailer the frame just fell out.

received_304515662373355.jpeg

Now for the other ironic part of all this. I visit the buddy that originally had the Denali and trade him the interior from the avy for the grand am mentioned way back near the beginning of this thread. That was my dad's, that got traded a couple times now among our group.

So the Denali gets to work home too

IMG_20231017_161333939.jpg

His truck was in bad news too. The back of his just flipped around.

And for fun.

Tahoe hooked to the trailer getting the avy loaded as I had the driveshafts out doing ujoints in the Denali.

IMG_20231016_175844388_HDR.jpg

Milage getting up there on both. Tahoe is 249+, and the Denali 267+

IMG_20231015_184544062.jpg

This makes sad. I drove that truck for 8 years in total.

IMG_20231017_130426500.jpg

Even let him drive his former truck! Made him quite happy ( the Denali, whole we got some lunch when dropping the seats and grabbing the grand am ).

A few small updates. Sometimes I really enjoy the view of the backyard.

IMG_20231022_121959648_HDR.jpg

Ended up having some noise in the Tahoe, found a missing caliper bolt!

IMG_20231023_194852285_HDR.jpg

IMG_20231023_194908880.jpg

Then about a week later on the way back from a wedding heard some noise from the front of the Denali. Ended up the front caliper was seizing up much like the rear ones usually do. At 60 ish for loaded calipers, and about that for rotors. So I just swapped it all out because we don't play these games.

So the girls ( wife and her mom) was looking for a way to smoke and not be in the weather/cold. ( They stopped smoking in the house some time ago) . The guy that had it, had it built as a hunting shed but wasn't enough room for what he wanted. Thinking about putting in some insulation and maybe some basic electrical for. A light and maybe a space heater .

IMG_20231027_151259406_HDR.jpg

IMG_20231027_151339034_HDR.jpg

Got it set on the corner of the patio

Super basic inside. But we may see what we can do about that later.
