Hi from Florida. After many years of Silverados I needed something a little shorter to fit in the driveway. Bought a RST in January. I like what is has but, I miss what it does not have. I was spoiled by my last Silverado, a LTZ Z71. Already shopping again. I will appreciate any tips on what to look for/avoid. I am thinking Tahoe LTZ.

Besides the lesser amount of home improvement supplies you can carry in comparison, what else do you miss about the truck that the Tahoe doesn't have?
Pretty much all the stuff that would have been in the Luxury Package included with the Z71. The RST is the next higher trim level but I don't think it compares to what is in the Z71 Trim level. On the RST "Memory" only includes the seat, on my Silverado it included anything with electronic adjustment. My better half is much shorter than me and does not love needing to adjust everything each time she drives the RST. Electronic mirrors only means adjust, big surprise first time at the carwash looking for the button to fold the mirrors, Trailering Equipment on RST did NOT mean brake controller, navigation was not stand alone GPS it meant I could subscribe to onstar (my bad I since found out as of 2022 Chevy stopped offering stand alone navigation), parking assist meant buzzer when you are going to hit something, not visual assist The list goes on. I have now learned about due diligence and verbal assurance that "it has everything the lower trim package has" I have two weeks to decide whether to try to order a 2023 Z71 or roll the dice and hope that the creature comfort options will still be available in 2024. I don't miss the ability to carry 10 foot boards and sheet of plywood and drywall, I go too old to do construction. Side item I am a native of Amherst where in western New York do you hail from?

I'm about 45 minutes east of Amherst down the thruway. Churchville, NY. About 1/2 hour due west of Rochester. The company I work for has their main office in Amherst. My wife and I get out that way into Buffalo often. I love Mighty Taco. Been patronizing that place since I was a little kid, over 40 years now lol.

My $72K RST doesn't even have blind spot warning mirrors. Seat air conditioners would be nice too. But these the only things I am "missing" with it. It it after all, a truck. But my SS that cost less than $45K out the door in 2016 has this stuff so I don't know why a 2022 doesn't. Getting the high country for $16K more to get these couple things did not make sense to me, and its all of the electrical gizmos and the accompanying gremlins that annoy me in the first place so I don't think adding more would have helped...

Do the Denalis, Escalades and High Countrys have a better self-driving lane keeping feature than the more base models? Mine is a joke and it's kind of unbelievable that they allowed it to go into production.

Hi guys! Interesting conversation. I’m actually thinking seriously about ordering a 2024 RST next month but now you have me second guessing. My thoughts were that 99% of the time I wouldn’t need the off-road amenities, tires and such. I do like the wheels and the overall look of the Z71. Not wild about the wheels on the RST. I knew the standard RST wasn’t loaded but thought it had what I would require. I have a 2016 Tahoe LT I bought new, don’t remember the last time the four wheel drive was engaged.

I am so glad I am not the only person who is thinking this way. My heart was set on purchasing the RST as well, (with the performance package), When I test drove it I was disappointed that it does not offer a sunroof, vented seats , or a heads up display. All things my 16 Yukon Denali have and my 14 Camaro SS have. I have asked if the 24 models will offer this but nobody seems to have an answer. It seems impossible to find a z71 with a 6.2. As much as I wanted the Tahoe I’m starting to fall back to the Yukon.

I just got a 23 rst with the lux package. I knew before hand the features it was missing. The big one is heads up display. I sold cars for about 10 years and even Grand Prix’s had heads up back in 2000, my wife’s accord has it, and the nissan pathfinder she had did too. I would not buy an RST without the memory seats, that would be a deal breaker for just shy of 70k. There should be a package that combines the sporty-ness of the RST and ”true” luxury of a premier/HC.

My main concern is the 22 inch pizza cutters in NY winters lol

Just picked up a 23 Tahoe RST with the 6.2L. only thing it's missing is heads up display and the rear view mirror camera. I have zero complaints so far after about 500 miles.

Reading these posts makes my decision for my 2020 RST even better. It had 18k miles on it when I got it last year. Heated/Cooled seats, blind spot mirrors, HUD, sunroof, trailer brakes controller, memory for mirrors, seat, steering wheel and pedals.
