Auxillary transmission cooler:

Approx cost for parts and labor to have this installed on my 2007 Yukon.

My cross country tow is coming up and I am getting antsy and wandering if this add on is needed onto my 2007 Yukon?

Here is the tow sheet stats for my VIN rig:

I have installed a Tekonsha brake controller and an Equalizer WDH to assist.

20 foot tandem axle 2021 cargo trailer - dual 3500lb axels exc condition trlr.
empty trailer weight is 3000lbs - will load approx 4000lbs into it.

just 1 person ( me ) in tow vehicle.

If I stop multiple times to allow xmission to cool down can I skip the auxillary cooler?

I have to go over both cascade mtn pass and Rocky mtns 2500 mi tow.

I can take my time and just drive 8 hours a day or less if it helps my tow rig

there's a 20 something page tranny cooler thread that's worth a read thru.

other than that, I'm no help since mines a hybrid lol. which seem to have crazy cooling stuff.

Drove her about 1500 miles over the course of 3 days last week and got about 16 mpg whilst doing so. Overall, can't complain. With that said, I think the wheel hub assemblies I just put in 6 months ago are on their way out again! I always buy top quality hubs but yet it's still a complete crap shoot on if they'll last or not. Really ****** me off!!

"Work perk" rental unit. Since I have to drive around in this thing I added vent visors and 5% rear tint.

I can't do the sides because I can't see at night or in the rain with it. Old fck. :(

I've found that you can see best at might out of the very expensive cermic tint better than cheaper tint and even the clear cermic takes the edge off in the sun. I have all my front windshield done with the clear.

probably not worth the money in a temp work truck thou.

How do you think it compares to the old school soldering and heat shrink method as far as connection quality and standing the test of time?

I would say it's comparable. Certainly much easier. And it has the waterproofing seals built into it. I am sure you will be hooked once you use them and get used to installing them. It's the tight corners/spaces where this is tough to use. That's why I like that small heat gun I posted that I came across with the deflector shield. That is added to my wish list.
