Just experienced this issue. Called my dealer with the TSB posted in post 103. They stated there is an update to this TSB posted January the 13th of 2023. PIT5873D is the new TSB. Says that they are still aware of the issue and that they are still looking for a permanent fix. As of this time, there is no fix to this issue.
Interesting...all the more reason to keep that 10mm wrench in the vehicle somewhere; and possibly practice at home, if you are going to be using Remote Start.

Remedy seems to have been a disconnect, reconnect of the Negative Battery Terminal to get you on your way again.

Does your vehicle have the recall for the DRLs? If so, take it in for that and they'll update the BCM. The update for the remote start issue was also a BCM update so you'll get the latest and greatest BCM software when they update it for the DRL issue. I don't know that I've heard of anyone getting their BCM updated and continuing to have the remote start issue.
No, he is saying that the bulletin published on Jan 13, 2023 says they still have an issue w/ this. The bulletin number is PIT5873D. I cannot locate a full online copy of that bulletin (Don't find it on NHTSA site yet, or anywhere else for that matter). But, his post implies they have new info saying they maybe haven't got this all the way solved yet. This is apparently a Revision, since PIT5873C was the bulletin which implied the BCM update resolved the issue.

I get that - but has anyone had their BCM updated in the last year that had the remote start issue and still has the issue? I haven't read this entire thread, but it seemed like people that had this issue got a BCM update and haven't come back to say they still have the issue. If BCM updates are cumulative (which by all accounts seems they are) then if he takes it in for the DRL update he'll also get whatever changes they made to fix this issue last year.

Agree, I haven't had an issue since the update...but, @Amandaann said she had it in post 215 and 218 that she doesn't know her build date and hadn't had the BCM update. And @pribilif said he had it and tried to get his BCM updated and the Dealer said to get bent there is no fix (but, I agree, his DRL BCM update would at least get him to the latest version; presumably including the update from last June which was supposed to address the issue.)

And, we don't really know when the updated BCM code hit the manufacturing line...but one would think it was around June when they published PIT5873C.

Net, I've been remote starting like crazy this winter and have had no issues.

Guys, yes, some of you are correct that the dealer said no point in scheduling me to come in since this latest revision of the TSB indicates no fix.
This morning, my wife remotes started the car, and it shut off because she did not get out there within the 10 or 15 minute window before it shut off. Attempted to start the car as per normal and we got the same symptoms as everyone else. I did hear some kind of electrical sound coming from the vehicle while we were having this issue - not while we were attempting to start it but while we were just standing next to it with it off. It was like a solenoid was open or something. Anyway, I used a multimeter to check the battery voltage and it read 12.1. I then tried to start the car and it immediately started up.
This is a rental we are stuck with for the next 3 to 4 weeks. Not going to put a ton effort into solving this problem for Enterprise.

I'd just stay off the remote start on this one ... It likely doesn't have the updated BCM software...I do believe the June version "helped" but maybe it didn't get all the way there.

Speaking to my dealer this update is independent of the DRL update, this maybe a hotfix or patch not included in their standard BCM upgrade. I am scheduled tomorrow to see if this changes my luck.

Got hit with this tonight. Remote started (like always), got in not 1 minute later and pushed the button...shut the Yukon down. Noted a CEL..so maybe they can pull the data log? Disconnected negative for about 5 minutes and started right up (via inside button). Got home, shut it down and tested remote start and pushing the button...started as normal. Now I guess I need to read thru all 23 pages to see if there is a "fix" for this known issue.
