Unless you are wanting a unicorn of a Sierra, I'd think you could find one on the lot vs ordering. Now if they are saying a Sierra order is only 4-6 weeks out, have at it

This isn't your normal dealer, but they have over 150 Sierras on the lot

What I'm seeing is consistent with that. The dealers usually have 30 1/2 ton pickups for every 1 full size 3 row SUV.

The reason I wanted a 1/2 ton based full size SUV was to tow a track car on a flatbed trailer. If I end up up with a 1/2 ton pickup, I may not need a 1/2 ton based full size SUV and a unibody 3 row full size SUV like a Jeep Grand Cherokee L would suffice 3-5 years down the road to replace my existing SUV.

My XL Denali with reserve package got picked up today. Order placed Nov. 9. They had 2 orders in front of me that got picked up a couple of weeks ago, so they told me it would be soon. I'm waiting on a TPW, but it should be early January with delivery in February.

I originally ordered an AT4 6.2L through a different dealer in September, but it never got picked up since the 6.2 is on constraint.

We got a new Tahoe this summer, to replace a ten year old pickup, and a 16 year old SUV. So far it's working out just fine. It tows the "race" car, and the Airstream. But we didn't need anything fancy, so we just got an LS with only the Max Tow option. Less than two months from placing order at the local small town dealer, till delivery.

it's kind of amusing reading all the folks lamenting that they can't get the big bucks models with all the options. I guess I've been so deprived, having never driving anything newer than a 2012, that the base model Chevy is way fancier than I need.

Oh, I think there maybe a misunderstanding. Personally, I don't want all the options. I really just want one option on the Yukon XL Denali gas and that's the Max Trailering package. I'm not going to pay "big bucks" for something that's not exactly how I've wanted it.

I've started factory ordering cars since 2014 for the last 2 vehicles I have. I've always been good with waiting a couple of months for exactly what I want.

Exactly how I feel. I'd order a High Country to get the better interior if they had an "offroad version", but since they don't, it's a Z71 Burb for me.
The AT4/RST are both no-go's due to the dark interior option, and the Denali is a no-go due to the price.
I've bought two new prev-gen Denalis', but doubt I'd buy another due to the excessive price increases vs. the incremental content.
The Ford King Ranch truck package slots about equal to the Denali in options.

Per GM chat today:
The current event code is 3000 and the Target Production week is 01/02/2023, however this is subject to change. Have I answered your questions today?

Christmas is ruined!!! Haha.
So according to my dealer I also have a TPW of 1/2/2023 but he said that could change. Like you I have the diesel Denali on order but more of a base model---just ACC, Max Tow and bench seats in 2nd row. Not sure I want a vehicle produced just before the Christmas break anyway :)

My ‘23 order update is that I’ve now cancelled my order… because this ‘22 is now tucked away in my garage!

‘22 Yukon XL SLE - Duramax - Max Tow - 9-seater - Satin Steel Metallic

I got a one-way plane ticket for Friday morning and drove back 400 miles to home later that day. It checks all the boxes for us - only other option we had on our order this one doesn’t have is the Pro Safety Plus pkg.

5 miles on the odometer when I got the keys. 400 mile trip home with lunch and a rest area stop - 31.3mpg and cluster shows 478 miles of range remaining. Amazing!

The 9 seat config is so nice! Even with my 5 kids we’re able to put two more adults in with us. We’ve already picked up my folks and went out and looked at Christmas lights with them.

100% worth the wait!

31 MPG during the break in period? What, were you driving downhill the whole way? :)

I know, right?! I’m still blown away myself. Even the salesman said not to expect ~30mpg initially as it’s still breaking in.

I was keeping my speed at about the speed limit or slightly under. I know it’s not good for a motor to stay at one speed/load while breaking in so when I had space to do so I would let off about 10mph and then stomp on it to put it under some load.

Good evening all, just wanted to start a thread about those folks ordering a 2023 to see how things progress with them and their orders.

I will start it off. Ordered my 2023 on june 16th, Radiant Red tintcoat, LS with drivers alert package. I checked with gm chat( an actual person) on june 24th, and the order has been accepted and in process to get built. They said to check next week for updates, so i will check back next Thursday.

Side note, to all of those stuck in midlothian, i feel terrible that yours are all stuck there and cant get any good i formation as to why they are there. Hope you all get them all shipped out to you folks in a quick manner.

Updated thread title to clarify that others who order 2023s can post as well.
Ordered 2023 Yukon Denali Ultimate in Volcano red tintcoat on December 1st from dealer in Little Rock, Arkansas. Order has been accepted from GM as of December 7th.

I'm still waiting on my order from November of 2021. Not sure when it went into production but dealer confirmed it's a 2023. I think built in July or August. i would think it could get transpo by now.

So as some of you know, I currently have a Yukon XL base Denali (diesel) order that was accepted a couple weeks ago and it is sitting at status "3000", waiting for a TPW. Well to my surprise I got a call from a Chevy dealer today who told me that my Suburban RST diesel order with Luxury package and Max tow was accepted and could move forward if I wanted. I will probably pass on it but there is a part of me that is really tempted to move forward. While I might lose about $1K with the deposit on the Denali, I would still save almost $8K between the price of the Suburban and the price of the Denali. Obviously there are some nice things I get with the Denali, but are they really worth $8K to me? I'll talk to my wife about it but I know she likes the looks of the Yukon much more, so will probably stick with that. I guess the good news is that things seem to be loosening up a bit.

I got a call from my dealer today that they received an allocation for my Yukon Denali and could place the order. They were calling to confirm my build details. Order placed with dealer on 11/29 and dealer placed order on 12/9. They said they are expecting delivery in February to March 2023.
