If you have been following my build thread it might be known or probably obvious I absolutely love oem style clear lights. Been hoping someone would make clear style oem tails for our tahoes ever since I got mine. And as of today I got my set!! Got home late so the pics are dark and Tahoe is dirty. Gonna wash it and get some more pics in the daylight. I am so excited been waiting for this forever. View attachment 385143

Yes I doubt I’ll ever change them. Life’s just been busy and for awhile I was using the app for this forum but it started not working right so it’s just been trying to remember to get on here. If anyone follows my Instagram I post videos of my truck and Tahoe. Thatsquishykid717 is my name on it as well.

I did the same for awhile, downloaded that app and for like 6 months it worked awesome. It was nice getting push notifications whenever someone commented or updated their build thread etc. then that update happened and it wouldn’t work at all. So back to browser for me as well.

I used to get updates through my email but that stopped working so well. Now I only get them for new threads I just posted in. Such a hassle. I just look at the link for threads I’m following or new posts when I come on.

As I seem to like to do last minute everything lol about a week before our big surf city sound off audio and car show I decided I was gonna fork out the money to recone the subs in the Tahoe finally. Only took almost a year but my pickup kept me from doing that.

after cutting out the cones I saw the suspension ripping on the bottom. Most likely from the first enclosure being too big and letting them over exert themselves. View attachment 385096

Ca glue(super glue with spray activator)on the spider landings and rubberized glue(basically e6000) on the surround/dust caps.

Well currently it’s looking a little sad. I’ll have more updates this coming week as I work on it lol

Until I start working really working on it tomorrow, not much happened with it until recently. Here’s some random photo catchup. Still doing audio shows when I can and moved to a new place with a smaller garage ugh.

Didn’t make it to the shop today. It is a 30-40 min drive now for me and I work graveyard as well now. But if anyone is curious the Tahoe decided almost 250k was enough and the beginning of this month the engine gave out(oil pump).

If anyone has followed my build or remembers the sludge and wheeling and heavy hauling of audio equipment….she was tired and gave in.

new engine with some goodies is sitting on the red stand in that picture. I’ll be pulling the engine tomorrow hopefully have the new one in and tuned by next weekend.

Hopefully get the new engine put in tomorrow. Maybe even running depending on how everything goes. There was a decent amount of metal on the drain plug so I’m guessing I have some unhappy bearings in the bottom end

Almost forgot last week I replaced the inner axle seals on the front differential. When I pulled the driver stub shaft out I noticed a needle missing from the bearing. Needless to say that was a nightmare and this is how it looked when I finally got it pulled. All cleaned and back together though

new engine is ready to go now though. Started a square body project with a 5.3 that ended up changing so that’s what I’m swapping into the Tahoe.
