160k? With a clean frame?

Dude.. Put a radio and fuses in it.. IT WILL SELL for good money!

eBay is where I would offer it... People will come from Chicago to get that.. Just because it is rust free! Its also a AFM/DOD free truck.. Makes it even more valueable.

Put a Buy It Now option on it..

Get it detailed out, and it would likely sell for even more!

35 bucks plus ship on radio.. (AM/FM)

or 60 bucks plus ship on a radio (AM/FM/TAPE)

(couldnt find a CD radio that was unlocked)

Buy 2 of these kits to replace your fuses..

Your into it for 70-85 bucks!

Edit: those radios might not be the right one, would have to see a pic of the interior

Edit2: If I am thinking correctly.. thats the older dash? 1.5 din radio..
Cassette
or AM/FM

Ok, I’ll keep you updated in the event someone up there is interested. I would rather the sell benefit both parties. I has 160,000K miles on it. Nothing about them hard, it belonged to my granddad. He left it to me in 2007 & all I did was put a K & N air & oil filter in it. Oh, and dropped new tranny in around 2019 once the “limp home mode” issue started. I'll look around and see what those are going for up here. I would imagine farther north up into the rust belt it might be worth more. I've had people drive 200 miles to get a rust free truck, sometimes more, and were happy as a clam with it. The new transmission will be a bonus and help sell it.

If I didn't have this p.o.s. Furd in my drive, I'd be interested myself.

I could really use some advice on the best method to sell or part out my 2000 Silverado WT, Reg cab, LWB, 2WD, 4.8L V8, manual windows, new automatic transmission, 3 piece cloth bench seat, vinyl floor.

It has the wide diameter drive shaft that some has already offered $200 buck for.

The hood is damaged from a limb but it has always run great. Other than the transmission issue 2 years ago (put a new trans in it) I have never had any problems.

Does any have an auction site or place to list that they can recommend? I would be driving it but while it was parked at brothers barn his workers helped themselves to the radio and fuses.

Any thoughts are honestly appreciated! Thanks guys!
I would Craigslist the truck as a whole for $3,*** “mechanics special” or $5,*** “shoot me a offer” and tell them about the robbed fuse box , “new” trans , any other major issues, if it’s just the fuses you could get up to 5k if it had working AC before unless you’re planning on some rebuild. Manual trucks are worth a butt ton more than a automatic. You might Even get more than the sum of the takeoff parts especially after hassle of flakes and more. You could easily get $4,*** especially if you’re not in the hugest rush to sell it I heard it was a southern truck so no smog to worry about just nitpicking about random rough rust spots that aren’t pictured or little things that aren’t visual.

I looked for similar trucks locally on Craigslist. They ranged from $3000 to $6000. Yours is in better shape than those as the $3000 one had 260,000 miles and was fairly rusty. The solid cab corners and clean wheel wells will really help sell it. It may not be anything special down where you are, but north of me, that puppy will sell to someone who wants a solid truck.

Fleabay is a good spot to sell it, but put a reserve on it so it doesn't go for cheap. The more pictures the better. A walk around video will really get attention. You can put it on Youtube and put a link to the video in the ad. I think Craigslist will let you put up to 24 photos in an ad. If I can find a link to the one I did for one of my vehicles, I'll put it here to give you an idea of how effective it can be.

I found the link for a walk around of a truck I sold a year or so ago. The buyer drove 200 miles to buy it with cash money. He'd been looking for one north of Indianapolis for years.

By panning the camera slowly, interested people can stop the video to look at details you don't mention. Point out things like I did, missing radio, idler pulley in place of the a/c compressor and such so they know exactly what they are looking for. GM trucks have been bad about cab corners rusting for many years. Even that solid truck had rust there. That's why I marveled at the solid corners on your truck.

The more you put in the video the better. Youtube usually will take up to 10 minute videos without much trouble. Just pan slowly, talk about the truck and it's condition and make sure you start it and let the potential buyer hear it run. I always make sure I start them cold as if there's a knock, that's when it'll be the worst. Show the gauges and mileage. Have a shot of the exhaust to show if it's smoking blue or not. If your grandfather bought it new and you've had it since 2007, say so. Two owner, one family. Show the papers from the transmission too if you can find them.

Like others have said, people from up north will want that truck. When I sold my Escalade, the buyer drove about 450 miles, spent the night in a hotel, then drove it home the next day. I can't state enough, folks up north want the southern iron.

I most of all wanted to thank you! You have treated me & this situation like anything but a “grouch”.
I was losing sleep over everything that had been stripped off the truck. I’m not saying this was smart but I drove to the barn and was sitting on the toolbox when those punks started pulling up for work. I asked them if they knew whose truck this was? They looked aggravated and anxious. I said I wanted everything taken, back in 3 days. It was back in two. Everything laid out on the bench seat.
I’m going to make the video now. I’ll post it here once I get it up on YouTube. I think you’ll notice the direction I went cinematically!
Always, Thank You

The biggest thing I've learned is to pan slowly. That way, if a prospective buyer wants to look at something like the drivers side rocker panel, they can pause and study it. None of the ones I've ever made will win an award, but they did let people see what the details were.

I call myself "grouch" because I don't tolerate fools gladly. Someone who earnestly asks a question because they really want to know, isn't a fool.
