Best Buy charges 79.99 for the Xk module but with the discount it comes up too 36.79. So I'll probably be picking that up this weekend and waiting on the alarm to arrive. I just got my UPS tracking # today so I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for it.

Make sure you have the right module. We've had that one XK06 floating around for a while now. Everyone assured me it'd work, and now it hasn't in two different rigs. It's been across the country 3 times now.

I would hope that it does. Two guys here locally have it installed and so far it's been working out for them. So I may end up using their installer since he has a couple of installs under his belt.

The lastest quote has been about 150 per install and about 50 for the add on module. Now I went to another audio shop here in my local area of Stone Mountain and they use a different bypass module than the XK. The guy that I was talking too has been installing since the early 90s also.

Unless you have installed something like this before and are confident you can do it, I wouldn't. I'm half way mechanically inclined and this scared me. Worth the money to have it done correctly the first time.

+1

There are miles of wires with this thing. Unless you really know your way around the truck/electronics, I'd pay someone to do it for you.

I know this does not directly apply to your tahoes or yukons, but I am thinking about getting this for my Integra, which is a 5 speed manual transmisssion.

Does anyone who installed this know if it has a switch device to sense if the ccar is in nuetral when it goes to autostart the car(so it does not try to start the car in gear?)?

Well after reading all through this, sounds like a great deal. 100 bucks for the viper and about 40 for bypass. 140 or so total. Not bad i guess. New to alarms. How is everyone liking this alarm so far. Any problems w/ the refurbished? Need an alarm myself.

If they ship Monday, Wednesday or Thursday you should get it, theoretically.

Biggest problem with figuring things like that out is that, depending on where you order it and how busy they are, it can sometimes take a couple of days for them to process and actually get it shipped.

@Tahoewhat, when I received my alarm, it had a bad contact to the selenoid or something like that. So I contacted the company and they gave me instructions on getting another unit. Even though they say refurb, I believe that most are brand new and they are just moving them to make room for the 2010 models.

Other than that I'm very impressed with the system and the two way remote will wake u up if it's going off. Other than that does anyone know how to turn the volume up on the siren? It's seems as though my horn is lounder then it right now. But to me for the price you can't beat it.

Yeah, I haven't had any problems with mine at all, at least that weren't my fault. I somehow put it into Valet Mode and the alarm wasn't arming...that took me a while to figure out.

Thanks ATL,

I really need an alarm, and this one just sounds too good to be true.. if you know what i mean. But for the price you cant beat it. Just to make sure, all that is needed is a bypass module correct? and i'll be good to go.
